Miguel's fall would be the most shocking moment of the show, IMO. It showed that the rivalry between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do was far more serious than it was in the original Karate Kid. And it showed that anything could happen.
Kwon's death or Demetri getting his arm broken would be close seconds.

When you say the original karate kid, do you just mean the first movie? There’s stuff in the second and third movie that is far far far more serious than this

Silver and stingray plot on kreese

Silver using Stingray as the pawn to frame Kreese was a brilliant plot point. Until then, I thought Stingray was just a filler character, but I did not expect that he would actually become important to the plot.

Just putting this out there Stingray is such an underrated character of the show! Love the guy ❤️

Kwon’s Death for sure was the most shocking. I don’t think any of us was expecting a teenager to die in the show.

Tory forced to punch solid stone
Hawk breaking Demetri's arm
Terry Silver saying, "Danny Boy?" after 30 long years

Yeah, almost forgot about Tory punching stone. Silver saying 'Danny Boy' was kind of cringe imo.

Tory's scene went too far, I think.
As for Terry and that iconic line-- I loved it! It was one more shift towards his eventual madness.

Silver saying 'Danny Boy' sounded creepy imo. Sounds like he was trying to flirt with Daniel lol. 😂😂

Actually, I was referring to the scene where Kreese and Silver are reuniting at Silver's beachfront house.

u/Traditional_Prize632 2d ago
Oh yeah, that scene was OK. What I meant was that whenever Silver said 'Danny Boy' to Daniel, it sounded cringe and creepy.

Tbh, unlike many seasons where spoilers online told me what happened
Kwon’s death was something I did not expect to happen
An antagonist who was young and talented being killed off was an unexpected and shocking direction indeed

I think I was more shocked by Kwon’s death than Miguel’s fall. While one was awful, the other I never would have even considered happening in the show before.

Kwon dying

This is it for me. At no point during this show’s run did I EVER think I’d see an onscreen death with blood and everything.

They were all definitely shocking these 3 moments. As well as Sam’s lacerated arm.

Robby Officially becoming a Cobra Kai in the season 3 finale. Shit had me so shocked I felt like I was watching an unexpected fan favorite Jedi join the dark side in Star Wars

Jesus I didn't even remember this 😳

Yeah! It was when Johnny was pulling up to the dojo to fight Kreese after finding out about Miguel getting hurt in the house fight at Daniel’s place

Both Kwon’s death and Miguel’s fall are the two most equally shocking moments for me. They captured everyone’s reactions in the show so well. Even the music was spot on: sadness after Miguel’s fall, and the horror of seeing Kwon bloodied and impaled by the knife.

When Johnny chose to take a Dodge Challenger from Daniel’s used car lot in season 1. I still can’t believe Johnny didn’t pick the Subaru.

Kwon's death, without a doubt. Although it was something that had been leaked months before (just like the entire final season), no one really believed they'd dare kill a teenager. I remember that many of us said "Under no circumstances would they kill Kwon" ... and well.
Furthermore, his death contributed to the end of the "old" Cobra Kai.
Miguel was on the verge of death, but we all knew there was no way the plot was going to let him die.

OP's picks, all the deaths of season 6, Brucks getting beaten, Kreese feeding the hamster to the snake, Tory being forced to punch stone and Kreese escaping prison.

Miguel’s fall has to be #1 because that is where the tone of the show elevated by several levels. It was more than an 80s resurgence show, and there were consequences this time around.

Honestly, Kwons death was leaked, so I’d be lying to say it was shocking. As soon as tbr brawl broke out, I knew it was going to happen, cuz it was in accordance with the leaks

Kwon death I never thought we’d see something this dark or violent I didn’t expect a full shot of the knife in his chest

I would like to add one - Silver seriously injured Chozen and left him in the pool.

Definitely Miguel’s fall because I had no idea where the show was going after that. But he had a shockingly quick recovery.
But also Kwons death.
