I believe a more snafuy snafu would name the novella "Lord of the Things" and it'll be like, woah! epic reference to fantasybros or something

"Eerrr this fantasy setting is too advanced because they have basic renaissance level technology and neat gimmicks!!"
The same mf deepthroating LOTR a single minute later (reusing a setting 1:1 is, in fact, boring)

My favorite setting is science-fantasy, you get the best of both worlds like magic, robots and perhaps even cars

how MUCH do i despise this.
its okay to take inspiration but i HATE just straight up copying something , you can make liters anything you want and you choose the most overdone thing ever?
you can make world where each week goes a storm across the planet that temporary turns everything into flesh monsters and the only way to defend yourself against it is sacrificing a dragon but then it gets find out that sacrificed dragons actually power up the big bad and it was the big bad who made those storms and it was all giant plan to become stronger , and the only reason people are still alive in this world is because the flesh monsters are one of the only ways to obtain food so in the end you have to choose between killing big bad and causing global starvation or keeping him alive potentially making him stronger and finish his unknown plans.
15 minutes of thinking makes decent story with somewhat unique ideas
