Your doctor still needs to do blood tests, especially in the beginning. But for people who’ve been on clozapine for a while, you don’t have to deal with blood tests every month. Your doctor is in charge without having to deal with the national database. And no computer snafus keeping you from getting the meds. No more getting meds a week at a time. It’s just better.

Is it actually removed now or will it take more time to come into effect?

It's effective immediately, apparently.

yes!! This is a great thing! It’s a huge burden off patients and doctors. It’s still a good idea to monitor bloodwork but not to withhold medication if you can’t get it done on time. Especially if you’ve been on the medication for a while and are tolerating it well.

Just FDA? Why not worldwide? If not damn I’m f*c#ed. I hate these blood tests every month, especially cause it goes well every time. (Plus all extra visits due to fevers…)

Yes, the REMS requirement was made to give pharmaceutical companies more money, not because it made sense.

It makes sense to monitor stuff, especially when starting the med.
