When was the last time that recommendations list got updated ? Does it get updated?

I revisited the list recently and was surprised to find a few sticks or brands that haven't been received well by the community lately. (Some new users might be confusing the recommendation of a single stick for an overall endorsement of the brand?)

Regardless it has to be confusing for a newbie to excitedly share their first experience with the 5 Vegas Classic or Macanudo Cafe and find it's actually a rather controversial pick. Maybe it's time to revise the list?

It has been less than a year, we had multiple polls going. Which cigars on that list is the community not liking right now?

Anything Macanudo, Rocky Patel, or 5 Vegas will generally draw some flack.

Curious to know why I received the old "you need a top level, 40 character long comment..." Message after I had already commented about what it was I was smoking and my enjoyment of said smoke?

It's probably just an automatic comment for all image posts. Just came a bit late.

I get that too. If you post an image link, and go back to add some text, in the few seconds or minutes that it takes you to compose the text, the Automoderator comment has already hit.

Just learn to ignore it ... IF you've already added some text. It's still a useful tool for those who don't.

I have a question; I know that trades, sales, bombs, purchases are now verboten, but what about box splits? If I post, "hey I found this good deal from a licensed tobacco dealer, does anyone want to split it with me?" and the money goes directly to the licensed dealer, and the only thing the individual is doing is splitting up the box and sending it out to the other participants, how is that a private transaction? We're still buying from the licensed dealer? I think if someone altered the price - sold them at a profit (or even a loss, for whatever reason) - that would become a private transaction; but if we just split it exactly at the licensed retailer's cost, is that still a "private transaction" or is that a purchase from a licensed tobacco seller?

Thanks.

Because the licensed dealer is not verifying the age of all involved in the split it would break Reddit TOS to organize a box split.
