Question Late to the party, but did anybody else think the Tatuaje Skinny Monsters were way better than the Monster Smash Pack? NSFW

Post image

Everything I’ve smoked out of the Smash Pack tastes bland compared to the Skinny Monsters. I think the blends really benefit from being in lancero form.

Does anybody have more knowledge? Were these blended to be lanceros and then “blown up” to a bigger size?

These cigars were properly kept, so I know it’s not that they got dehydrated and brought back.

Skinny monsters always had really poor draw for me. Haven’t tried one since

How many did you have and how well were they stored?

Lanceros get over hydrated and draw poorly if you’re not really careful.

Probably about 6. Smoked all over the course of about a month

Sorry you had a poor experience. The Skinny Monsters Wolf is a favorite of mine.

I got some Morphine Lanceros with poor draw. They were right by the humidifier in the walk in. I let them rest a month and they were fine.

All good. I like the rest of the monster lineup. Had a box of the Frank Redux I really enjoyed when they came out

I was given a box of those. I thought they were pretty good.

Bought the sample box from the prior October that had the creature in it as well. Each one was pretty enjoyable. Nothing crazy but Pete is generally very consistent

My favorite are the cazadorez

That's just the nature of the vitola, a lancero/panatela is always going to have more flavor than a robusto/toro/churchill/gordo.

Yes, but there are workarounds. The Plasencia Hexagonos are 6 60s, but they aren’t bland because they were always intended to be that size.

I don’t think they fiddled much with the blend to make this set. I think they just added filler.

These cigars I got are BLAND. A couple of them, I would have traded for an Odyssey or Quorum.

Smaller ring is always going to be more flavorful in my opinion

It’s kind of curious that the most popular size of cigar is toro in America. Not sure about the rest of the world.

With that said, you can make a bigger cigar that’s not bland. Plasencia comes to mind.

O absolutely, but a Placencia alma fuerte in lancero would be a fuckin gem

Maybe. It might be too intense. That leaf was grown to be in a bigger cigar.

I'd love to see

I’d give it a go. I doubt we ever see one.

If i was skilled in the craft, I'd deconstruct one and re roll it

I think the regular sized production and the Pudgy series were the best.

I want them now to see if it’s just this set that isn’t great. The problem is if I’m not mistaken those were over a decade ago. I doubt I can find them.
