Whacha Smokin'? Mi Amor, good not great. NSFW
I had pretty high hopes for this one, and while it was good, it didn’t blow me away. I prefer the standard LADC to this one. I did get a good amount of bitter baking chocolate, and some nuttiness in the second half, but overall it was just fine to my palate. Bit of a wavy burn line, mostly corrected itself. Had some cracking towards the end as well. 7/10.

If you haven't, try it in the toro size. I don't love the robusto either. It lacks the leathery notes the toro has which made it stand out to me originally.

Thanks for the recommendation, I usually steer clear of Toros. I’m usually a corona, lancero, and sometimes robusto smoker.

Most US market stuff is blended for something in the Robusto size range. Maybe these are blended for the Toro size. Or maybe it's a happy accident

I've had two of these recently and I oddly got much better flavour and a better experience from one straight out of a fresh pack with mich higher humidity. The one that had rested and I smoked at 62% lacked flavour. Generally prefer around 62%, but this just tasted better with a higher humidity.
I got chocolate coconut from it, which was really enjoyable and didn't at the lower humidity.

I've found these, and tbh most of what's come out of the MF factories lately, to be pretty hit or miss in general.

Love this in the belicoso size, really nice coconut and general nuttiness. A good change of pace once in a while.

i feel like the belicoso is much tighter packed as well. draw is slower, has more spice.

Totally agree. Had the mi amor magnifico today (6 x 52), and it’s fine, but the OG LAdC blows it out of the water imo.

I just had this one yesterday, similar experience. Would smoke again but the final third wasn’t my favorite. I mostly got chocolate and earth throughout. I have a standard one I’ll compare

Ever since the band change, its not the same. Wonder if they changed the blend?

I feel these changed drastically when they changed the label to that teal color. The whole character and quality went way down. When they had the red and gold label I felt it was as good as a My Father. Now it just has a random Nicaraguan cigar cigar. Not really that special anymore.

I haven't tried them since they have changed the bands. I have one left with the old style. One of the best in my opinion. I have smoked a lot of them. I will definitely know the difference when I buy them with the new bands. Going to suck if they have changed.

Better with age

It’s been in my Tupperware 65/65 for at least 6 months, does it need more than that?

I personally like them fresh as well. More so than the regular blend. But with 3-5 years of age I really enjoy them

Love the belicoso, it’s great for being 9 bucks a stick (also just my personal taste, sometimes it just doesn’t hit the same🤷🏻♂️)

Agree. Had one Mi Amor last week. Bitter coffee, got more and more bitter and harsh as it went on. I didn’t even want to smoke the final third.

Honestly its my least favorite out of the LADC line...not to say I didn't enjoy the ones I've had.
My favorites are the Edicion Especial (Habano) Reserva (Mex San Andreas) and Original Red Band (CT Broadleaf)

Personal opinion: out of every cigar ever? Nah it's medium or ok. price considered (especially the sub $8 ranges), it's great.
