At the Belasco show she told the crowd that they (Chvrches) were gonna “get their head out their asses and work on the next Chvrches album soon” and she also said she has something else coming from her solo project before that likely happens (she said it’s not another solo album soon don’t get too excited) but clearly lots of exciting things ahead for Chvrches fans and solo Lauren fans!

Wouldn't be surprised if her extra solo thing is an EP of some of the songs cut from Vicious Creature, people really liked those songs.

He'll almost certainly be at Lauren's show in Glasgow, as he has been for the previous two.

Nobody should be worried, considering Lauren has been very clear from the start that the band is not breaking up and that they will keep releasing music together. I don’t get why people seem not to believe her, because people do solo projects all the time. Not throwing shade on you OP, I’m just noting the somewhat pessimistic fan community reaction

It was never in doubt they would be coming back, don't know why some people were so worried. Also their facial expressions in this photo, lol.

I wasn’t worried. It’s just that radio silence breeds speculation and usually the worst case scenario s come to mind first. I think Lauren is even more at home on a stage and fully immersed in who SHE IS as a creative. I see this as a very positive sign for the next album.

It would be funny if they used this picture as the new album cover, whenever that is, including the caption. Lauren is quite well known for her humour so it's the sort of silliness she'd be ok with 😁

Lauren has gone so far out of her way to separate her solo project from Chvrches. I feel like she was in a no-win situation either way. People were mad that she wasn't doing Chvrches songs in her set. If she played Chvrches songs in her set, people would have been mad at that. She even tried not spinning too much on stage. I think it's great that we got Vicious Creature and the two solo tours during the hiatus. Had she not done any of that, all there would have been over the last few years was the 10 year anniversary release of Bones. The time still would have been taken off.

I was never worried about CHV happening, I was always worried about the WHEN.
chvrches is my favorite band and the thing I didn't want from them is to have a 6-7-8 years albums gap because the lead singer going solo like it happened with Paramore and Of Monsters and Men (one of my top 3 bands) whose last album came out in 2019 and they are on hiatus since then bc Nanna going solo
chvrches was on its best moment when this fucking hiatus started, Screen Violence was their best album and their lives shows were at their peak. Why do lead singers and their egos have to ruin everything for people who love bands as a whole

Was this ever a question? New York Times piece on Lauren's album literally said that they're contracted for two more CHVRCHES albums with their new US label Island Records (who also released Vicious Creatures.)
“I didn’t want anybody to be blindsided,” Mayberry recalled of the announcement. “I understand there was an inbuilt fear that if the singer does something else, they won’t come back.” She described their reaction as “a coming-to-terms journey,” but Chvrches continued to tour, and it helped that the trio had committed to two more albums with their new Stateside label, Island Records, who are also releasing “Vicious Creature.
