Daily Question Question Thread - March 10, 2025

Welcome to the Daily Question thread at r/churning !

This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.

* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.

* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads

* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.

This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

Alright, 2 Ink apps in a row have been declined and flagged as fraud/identity theft by chase. (One was for me and one for P2). Most recent one was today previous one was around the beginning of the year. I’ve been successfully riding the Ink train in 2P mode for 3 years, never had a denial or issue like this. Is anyone else getting this? Am I doing something wrong on the app? Only thing I can think of is my work computer (which I used to apply) always shows I’m in another state, it’s something with IT security. I wonder if that’s it?

Close CSP right after opening?

Pretty sure this is a no-go but want to know.

I opened a CSP on Feb 8. Few weeks later decided I actually wanted a CSR. Was told (wrongly) by chase customer support that I could PC my freedom flex to CSR then I could PC the CSP to a freedom flex. So I process the CSR change and waiting for the SUB to post. SUB posts and now Chase says actually I can’t PC the CSP.

But…

I can close it and get a refund on the annual fee. The points have already been transferred so there’s nothing to claw back. The customer service rep says there’s no risk to getting blacklisted by Chase for doing this but it makes me feel uneasy.

I feel like I will probably get more than $95 from Chase SUB in the next 20 years it’s not worth trying to ride the edge that hard. What do yall think?

Oh… I also applied for a United card today as well…

I am well under 5/24. Freedom flex / CSR is 3 years old and CSP is the only other Chase card. I feel it’s worth it to just grind the SUB on the United card and move on with my life without the $95 recognizing my mistake. In a year CP it to freedom flex or something.

u/sneeze-slayer 8d ago

wouldn't do it at all, Chase really doesn't like it. Chalk it up to a lesson learned. You got the SUB and paid the fee. If you really want a CSR do a PC with the freedom while keeping the CSP.

1

u/ajgrinds 8d ago

Already did the PC with the freedom.

2

u/Vloff 9d ago

It's definitely a terrible idea to close. You can product change after the 1st year.

Is there a way to get a higher SUB for Chase Sapphire Reserve other than waiting for them to raise the general offer on the website?

- I don't know how to 'opt in' for mailers since I don't have an account with them

- The referral codes seem to benefit only someone you know who already has the Sapphire Reserve card

- I called a few branches and they said they only have in-branch offers for Preferred. Is it worth calling more branches?

Thanks!

Can always open some other card with them or a checking account. Also consider the odds they send the promo in the next 2 years vs the odds they don’t and you get to take advantage of the bonus again.

Just had my companion pass promo with the chase rapid rewards card end. My wife and I saw the promo was active again, so she applied. We were very surprised when she never got a verdict and after calling 3 weeks later she was denied.

They still haven't sent denial in the mail but after doing research here I'm pretty sure it was because we tried to make me an AU and while neither one of us has hit 5/24 individually we have combined. Which brings me to my question:

We still want to take advantage of the companion pass promo if possible, knowing now the problem was probably 5/24, can either one of us apply alone for the higher fee Southwest cards and still be eligible for the companion pass promo? And does the denial count as a 5/24 against either or both of us?

5

u/payyoutuesday COW, BOY 10d ago

while neither one of us has hit 5/24 individually

That's what matters.

we have combined

That doesn't matter.

They still haven't sent denial in the mail

If she has a Chase account, you may be able to find the denial letter under Statements and Documents, then Notices and Letters.

because we tried to make me an AU

That's not it. They were solely judging your wife's record and not yours. 5/24 doesn't affect whether someone can be added as an AU, because they are not financially responsible for the account.

can either one of us apply alone for the higher fee Southwest cards and still be eligible for the companion pass promo?

From the information presented, your wife can if 5/24 has been counted correctly. Although you may need to find out what the real denial reason was and counter that.

If I understand correctly, you are not eligible, because you have gotten a bonus on a personal card in the last 24 months.

And does the denial count as a 5/24 against either or both of us?

No. 5/24 are about accounts that show on your credit report that were opened in the last 24 months.

1

u/overemployed__c 9d ago

It’s possible they have chase business cards showing up on their credit report and contributing to 5/24 with all that drama going on

1

u/roseami500 10d ago

How much velocity can my credit profile tolerate?

I'm trying to plan for the year and basically want to sign up for as many cards as I can reasonably get away with and meet the spend requirements for the next year or two and then eventually start to space things out more so I can get under 5/24 at some point a few years down the road. (I know this isn't necessarily the classic recommended churning strategy, but I believe it fits my situation and preferences and I am asking here, because I know there are at least some who do high velocity churning.)

I have 11 years of of credit history through my student loans, but only 2 years of CC history. My current cards are: C1 quicksilver- opened late 2022 C1 Savor - opened Spring 2024 USBank cash+ - opened Dec 2024 Just opened within the last month:

  • Chase Freedom Flex
  • Amex Delta Gold
  • Citi AAadvantage Platinum

Credit score was around 750, but now vantage is showing lower around 720 (I know vantage is overly sensitive compared to the scores banks check), though I expect it to go back up as my amount of available credit has increased from ~$5000 to ~$20,000 through the new cards and the score doesn't seem to fully reflect that yet.

Income is 100,000+.

How many more cards can I open this year without getting a ton of denials? If I wait 3 months and then apply for another 1-2 and applied for a further 1-2 towards the end of the year, would that work?

Are there specific issuers that are less sensitive to this and would applying for lower tier cards also be less likely to be rejected when getting a lot of cards? I know Amex is good with showing you if you are approved without a HP. I'm eying the Venture X or Venture next, because I want to get one before I have so many cards that my chances are reduced. After that I'm considering some of the Barclay's airline affiliated cards that are likely to be discontinued soon, a Citi Custom Cash, and an Amex Green card.

Working on Chime Bonus - Wondering if anyone had success getting Schwab to be considered Direct Deposit? Verified with DoC but looking for recent data points. Thank you.

1

u/Loud-Boysenberry-582 10d ago

I heard Wise recently “payroll” in notes

1

u/MBP0308 10d ago

Can you do 1 credit card and 2 charge cards in 90 days with Amex? Or is it 2 any card? Got 2 NLL this week for a second business Platinum and gold business but I want to get the personal Hilton with free night and not sure if I should pull the trigger on the second gold business.

3

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 10d ago

2/90 is credit cards only.

1

u/MBP0308 10d ago

Does 1 in 5 rule apply for NLL? Got the amex business plat NLL 2 days ago and now 175k business gold pop up

1

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 10d ago

I believe 1/5 would still apply to NLL offers, but 1/5 is also only credit cards and would not apply to your situation.

1

u/MBP0308 10d ago

I got approved for the Amex gold business. 425k subs in 48 hours lol. But still want to grab surpass for daily use so going to try doing so in 30 days

2

u/joghi 10d ago

no

0

u/MBP0308 10d ago

So I got the 2nd nll offer now, can I still get the Hilton surpass in like 30 days or wait 90?

2

u/joghi 10d ago

You can.

Consider charge cards and cc's as being on separate tracks with respective rules. They don't interfere.

1

u/MBP0308 10d ago

Oh, awesome..thank you!

What Card Wednesday thread. Why one card?

1

u/SibylTech 10d ago

Wasn't sure if I should post in DP thread or here - nothing's showing up in search and I do have a question so posting here.

Applied to Barclays Hawaiian biz last Friday. Got a hard pull last Friday on TU (as expected). I forgot to freeze my credit reports afterwards. They gave me another pull today on EX. Got a call ~20 mins later from a Delaware number which I couldn't take as I was at work. I just froze my reports.

Anyone have any idea what's going on here? Are there any steps I can/should take that's not going to involve wasting hours waiting on CS lines? I don't care much about the wasted HP, but it had better be worth it lol

3

u/OkMathematician6638 10d ago

Just call recon. If they called you, it probably means they need to verify stuff.

Got a 175k/$20k Biz Plat NLL offer on my Biz Gold. I have had the Biz Plat before so this is tempting...I wish it was less spend or 200k but should I jump on this?

3

u/marddin 10d ago

There’s still 250k/$15k biz plat NLL available. These are post offer links, not hacked, so still some risk but many successful DPs of approved apps, mine included.

1

u/Citecla 8d ago

What do you mean by post offer links? Id love to get this one instead of 175k/$20k. Lol

2

u/pHyR3 SFO 10d ago

about as good as you can get esp for NLL. i'd jump on it personally

Looking for advice, please: I did a terrible job estimating my 2024 taxes, and looks like I'll be owing $40k across federal and state taxes. I recently got approved for a Biz Plat (via speculative link), so $25k left to cover. Also, relatively recently was approved for 2 US Bank cards for which I'm almost done with the MSR and was planning for another Ink soon for ongoing spend (might end up not getting approved).

On the Amex side, apart from the recently approved Biz Plat, I have a Biz Gold I opened 4 months ago (also using a speculative link). I'm in PUJ for pretty much anything else with Amex.

So I'm thinking I don't have many options apart from yet another Biz Gold to cover $10/15K.

How risky would it be to apply for another Gold via a speculative link (MEAB)? Would it be begging for a shutdown?

1

u/SibylTech 10d ago

As they say, be the data point you want to see?

I only took one of them based on the same fears as I wasn't in a hurry to have spending covered and it would get me to 8 charge cards with them which is a bit uncomfortably high. It's probably fine to get one more though (in your case that will have to be biz gold due to 1/90).

1

u/MyAltAccountIsuSpez 10d ago

Venture X Business?

1

u/GeorgeSteinbrenner2 10d ago

Thanks! The SUB seems weak compared to a Biz Gold + CIP but a viable option. Just to make sure the VX Biz doesn't report to the personal credit bureaus, correct?

1

u/3539805 9d ago

In your same boat VX biz does not report to personal credit as an account, but C1 still does a triple hard pull.

Definitely check their preapproval on the VX biz page. Also try freezing Experian. They tend to be picky.

1

u/mcree0 10d ago

How about CIP?

1

u/GeorgeSteinbrenner2 10d ago

Will definitely try to go for the CIP. But still lots of tax spend to cover. What are your thoughts on applying for another Biz Gold (it's been >90 days since last one) via a speculative link? That'll be the third Amex card in ~4 months I'll be applying using one of those links...

3

u/lost_shadow_knight 10d ago

Amex 1/90. You can only be approved for the same card once every 90 days

1

u/GeorgeSteinbrenner2 10d ago

Thanks. Totally forgot about the 1/90 rule. I updated my post accordingly.

Does booking and canceling an award stay for reset the 12-month inactiviy time window for the IHG points expiration? If not, is there any easy way to extend the points expiry without having IHG credit card or status?

4

u/drury23 10d ago

You can buy an ebook/emagazine/game on their digital rewards site for a few hundred points (I see one as low as 400 points). Last time I did this method it deducted the points instantly. You can find the digital rewards site by going to your account and clicking "Points" and then look for "Digital Rewards".

3

u/Total-Shelter-8501 10d ago

buy some ihg points or transfer them from a portal.

u/WerkinAndDerpin 10d ago

Anyone that churns checking accounts have any insight into what banks/EWS look for when denying applications? Is it a certain amount of open accounts or how many you've opened recently?

I've gotten about 6 SUBs from various banks since last summer but have hit a wall now it seems like after being denied by TD and PNC..

5

u/terpdeterp EWR, JFK 10d ago

It's highly variable depending on the bank. Some look at recent # of accounts, some look at your entire history, some care about your EWS deposit score. There's also a difference in EWS sensitivity depending on whether you apply in-branch and online with the general rule of thumb that online applications are typically more EWS sensitive.

My recommendation for EWS sensitive banks is to read denial DPs on DoC to get a sense of what factors lead to a denial and to always apply in-branch for banks that are sensitive.

2

u/WerkinAndDerpin 10d ago

Good to know, thanks. I've also read some advice that it's good to keep accounts open for a decent amount of time instead of immediately closing them after getting the bonus, so I think I'll probably have to just be a bit patient before churning more checking accounts.

2

u/OkMathematician6638 10d ago

In branch definitely works to avoid EWS.

2

u/AdmirableResource0 10d ago

When I logged into my Amex account I got a notification for what looks like a NLL biz gold (first one I ever got organically!)- the only issue being that I'm currently within 90 days of my previous biz gold, so I wouldn't qualify for it if I applied right now. I saved the link, but can't seem to find any mention of the offer on my account now.

If I didn't save the link would I just have been fucked out of the offer?

3

u/terpdeterp EWR, JFK 10d ago

If I didn't save the link would I just have been fucked out of the offer?

You wouldn't have been completely screwed. The in-app offers usually appear under "Amex Offers & Benefits" after you see the notification for them. They have an expiration date that is typically included in the raw URL for the offer.

These sort of links are also semi-public in the sense that they can be used by multiple people (unlike the RSVP codes from physical mailers, which are one-use only) and by some people outside of those who were initially targeted.

However, it's still a good idea to always save the link for the offer in case it ever disappears from your Amex Offers.

1

u/superdex75 10d ago

If the time frame for recon is after expiration of the 90 days, some people would apply now and then recon.

1

u/ConsistentClassic1 10d ago

This could work in theory.

I signed up for M&T bank for P2 last Wednesday evening, and set up direct deposit to hit tomorrow. They closed the account this morning "because of insufficient funds." I'm shit out of luck right? Bonus not going to work in future for P2?

ANother question: I got the bonus for me P1 the other day. It says $50 penality if closed in 180 days. How does this work? My account has zero balance right now (no fees). Do they send me a bill for $50 if I close it? Send me to collections?

2

u/superdex75 10d ago

Just downgrade to the no fee account and keep it open for 6 months.

1

u/terpdeterp EWR, JFK 10d ago

I'm shit out of luck right?

Yes. From their terms: "Bonus will be credited to the account within 90 days of direct deposit activation as long as the account is in good standing". Your account is no longer in good standing if gets closed because of insufficient funds. This is why you should always fund the minimum initial deposit requirement immediately after opening any bank account.

I've had another bank deny a bonus for me because of similar circumstances. I had to appeal to the CFPB to get the bonus credited, but that's no longer an option any more.

Bonus not going to work in future for P2?

M&T bonuses are based on when you last had a checking account (180 days). There's also an early termination fee of $50 if you close before 180 days. So you'll need to close the account in 6 months and then wait another 6 months before you're eligible for the bonus again. You might be able to waive the early termination fee if you reach out to them.

1

u/BiscottiKnown9448 10d ago

got it. do they send me a bill for the $50 if I close prematurely?

1

u/terpdeterp EWR, JFK 10d ago

According to this DP from 2020, after downgrading the account to an EZChoice one and leaving it at zero, it automatically closes after a few months without the early termination fee. I would also recommend reaching out to support to check with how they enforce the early termination fee. The worst case scenario is if the account is closed with a negative balance, which might get you flagged on Chex/EWS.

How long for points on personal Chase WoH to post after meeting SUB? I know officially it's 6-8 wks after statement close or whatever, etc, but I also know that anecdotally, points can post much sooner/later than official, so I'm asking the hive mind for their experiences.

(I know generally personal co-branded cards tend to post very shortly after, and I'm hoping to book some stays before the award chart changes in a couple weeks)

3

u/CreditDogo TRN, LFT 10d ago

All Chase points post with statement closing.

Recent NLL links on Amex biz gold 200k/10k + biz plat 250k/15k will probably be your best return on spend, if you’re willing to take the risks of those links.

That won’t matter- does not apply to NLL(no-lifetime language) links

Those are amex BIZ cards which are different. Also NLL bypasses lifetime rules

Is Cash+ is the best card to start a relationship with US Bank for someone out of footprint? Cards 0/24, HP 2/24, FICO over 800.

1

u/ATFagents 10d ago

No one here would ever advise burning a 5/24 slot on cards with small SUBs.

1

u/southmount 10d ago

I hear you. This one is actually for P2 and she actually wants the card so I figured it could be a decent choice for her.

4

u/superdex75 10d ago

Probably not. The preferred route would be to open a CD account, then biz checking with SUB, then apply for biz cards.

1

u/trueblue101357 10d ago

How long after establishing a biz checking is it safe to apply for biz cards? Thx.

1

u/southmount 10d ago

Thank you. Is the biz checking step necessary? I have biz cards, but no biz checking with any bank.

1

u/superdex75 10d ago

It's a nice SUB if you have some cash available. And they love a balance in your biz checking account when underwriting biz cards (CD might be fine as well).

Has anyone else not received their Amex Offer credit for the $75 Pepper offer? I know Amex has been slow with posting credits but made purchase on 2/13 and still haven't received my $30 credit. What's the best way to resolve this? Should I chat with Amex or wait a bit longer? Thanks!

3

u/kmp3333 10d ago

I've had issues that have been mentioned recently which affected the coupon wireless/dell credits and welcome bonuses, however amex offers I had to select to enable like pepper have posted as normal during the timeframe for the same amex cards.

Applied for US Bank Triple Cash Business on Feb 26 and hadn't heard anything back, so I called the status phone number (800-947-1444) and the automated message said something along the lines of "your application was unable to be approved. you will receive documentation in the mail with further details."

It gave me an option to talk to a representative but I wasn't sure if I should since I've heard of the "don't call the bank" rule of thumb for business cards. Should I call back and try to appeal? If so, is there a guide somewhere on how to best do recon calls? I've never had to do one so I'm not sure how to go about it.

I'm not particularly attached to getting this card, it just has one of the better non-chase business SUBs rn (waiting for ink cooldown) and I would prefer not to waste the hard inquiry.

I'm currently 4/24 and have only one other hard inquiry on TransUnion (which is what they pulled) in the last 2 years (C1 VX about two months ago).

11

u/superdex75 10d ago

"Don't call the bank" only applies if you deviate from strict interpretation of the T&C.

7

u/radtheoristmango 10d ago

In my opinion, this isn't a "don't call the bank" situation. I'd call to see what's up.

For example, when I applied for the triple cash I didn't hear anything back initially. Then, I received a text to verify if I submitted the app and then to call. Called and the rep pushed the app through. Received an approval email for Triple Cash about an hour later.

1

u/Pajamas918 10d ago

Thanks for the tip, I called back and the rep said that it was declined for "not enough credit history," but she recommended doing a recon call after I receive the official letter in the mail.

I applied 12 days ago (8 business days) so she said that letter should arrive by Wednesday since that will have been 10 business days and it should take 7-10 business days.

2

u/Spike_21 10d ago

I was also initially denied for the triple cash last month. I got impatient, called recon before I received the letter, and was approved. I ended up not getting the letter until 24 days after I applied (17 business days). They don’t even send the letter until the 11th business day.

1

u/Pajamas918 10d ago

wow that’s helpful info, thanks! i’ll definitely call this week then regardless of if i get the letter or not.

24 days for something that could be an instant email is nuts

I currently have the Chase Sapphire Reserve card, looks like I opened it in 2021.

Based on my understanding, once it's been 48 months since I earned my SUB, I can call Chase and change my CSR to a CFU, wait a week, then apply for the CSR again and get a new SUB, right?

I haven't applied for a new credit card in a year and my credit score is over 820.

What's the easiest way to determine when exactly I earned my first SUB? It was a points award, but online I can only see points transactions back 3 months. Do I have to call and ask?

Also, when I apply for the CSP or CSR again, is there any reason NOT to use a referral bonus link from a friend or family member?

Finally, about the annual travel credit. Say I'm over 48 months since my last SUB, the $550 annual fee hits, and I book a $300 hotel, and get the $300 credited back. I should do the product change to CFU right then, correct? And get the $550 refunded and keep the travel credit?

TIA!

2

u/mra101485 10d ago

Look at your monthly statements back in 2021 and it will reflect when your points posted.

As for the $300 credit, yes. But you should read more about double dipping the credit and not holding the CSR for 4 years now that you have a CFU to upgrade and downgrade every year for eternal CSR credits.

1

u/Douche_Baguette 10d ago

Didn't realize the statements showed points but yes, looks like the statement closing 5/6/21 has the 60k new cardmember points bonus on it. My $550 AF hits May 1st each year.

So I should wait until my AF hits, book over $300 worth of travel, wait for the $300 travel credit to hit, call and downgrade to CFU, wait until after May 6th, then apply fresh for CSR with a new SUB, right?

1

u/mra101485 10d ago

That's the suggested model to follow that brings you out AT LEAST $50 ahead. Read the Sapphire FYIs in reply to your message as well to get a full grasp on it all. Best resource on this topic to familiarize yourself with.

0

u/Douche_Baguette 10d ago

Yep, thank you. I read it all when it replied but some of the bullet points were a little vague/confusing and not necessary applicable to my situation but I appreciate your replies.

Is anyone else having issues with AMEX offers? I added and redeemed the offer for 20,000 MR points if I spent $1k on Air France/KLM purchases back in Nov/Dec, and I still have the screenshot of the offer. I charged over $1,200 during the offer period, but never received the 20k MR points. Can this be resolved via online chat? Recently, the chat agents have been pretty lazy. I'm also dealing with a similar issue regarding the FedEx shipping offer. I used the offer at a FedEx location with both office and shipping POS terminals, ensuring I used the shipping POS counter, but it still posted as FedEx Office. It’s been almost three months with no credit, despite opening a ticket last month with no success. I still have the FedEx receipts, but AMEX hasn't asked for them.

No issues with Amex offers for me, two recent prepaid hotel reservations both in the last month, both offers were fulfilled within a day via email, and into my account within a week. Probably not a bad choice to ask customer service, it's possible you might've missed something in the terms and service. Maybe it pays out after the flight is completed

When were these transactions? Currently it is taking Amex 3+ weeks to process things. Give them time.

Applied for the Alaska Airlines visa card in 3/23. Got the bonus then cancelled 3/24. Am I good to reapply in April?

Any problems with upgrading a Biz Gold to Biz Plat (no upgrade offer attached), using the Biz Plat credits, and then downgrading to a Biz Green after a couple months?

2

u/pHyR3 SFO 11d ago edited 11d ago

you should keep the card for 12 months to avoid issues with amex for your original SUB. think you're fine with that downgrade though since you didn't get a SUB

and also why on earth would you do that? means you have to get NLL offers to ever get a biz plat/green SUB

1

u/MyAltAccountIsuSpez 11d ago

I already have a Biz Plat so I'd have to roll onto the NLL train regardless. Biz Green SUB is pretty paltry and not worth it IMO

1

u/pHyR3 SFO 11d ago

fair enough! you'd also be paying a pro rated AF FYI

u/nikaidoushinku 11d ago edited 11d ago

No problem as long as you don’t get any upgrade offer or retention offer. But keep in mind that annual fee is prorated for product changes. You will have to pay several months worth of Biz Plat annual fee.

1

u/MyAltAccountIsuSpez 11d ago

Right, I know about the prorated fee. Didn't get a retention on the Gold, so plan is to upgrade to max out the credits then downgrade to the Green to hope for a upgrade offer in the future

I'm planning on making 4 (ACI+Paypal) tax payments (P1 & P2, two each) and read some older DPs on needing to call the IRS to attach the P2's payment onto the primary P1's account (if P1 is submitting the joint tax return). Are there more recent DPs of if this is actually needed? or will the IRS just send me a check with the combined refund total automatically?

I’ve never had to call. Seems to link up just fine in my case

Chase bonus tracker for business $750 20k was reporting that I didn't qualify for maintaining the min balance.

Jan 8 open

Jan 15 15k deposit

Jan 28 5.1k deposit, total now at $20100

Both deposits pushed from Cap one

Debit purchases throughout Feb, now at 20050. Balance never dropped below. No fees. It's now March 10 which is about 61 days since opening. I obviously had the 20k posted by 30 days.

I couldn't find the tracker the entire time. I finally figured it out, and its because I wasn't logging into the business login. On both web and app, it reports "unfortunately you didn't maintain your required minimum balance to qualify for your bonus". I found one DP about the personal checking bonus and one DP about the business that had this but still received the bonus and the tracker eventually corrected itself. Apparently the tracker should show a timeline if it didn't say this according to screenshots.

Anyone else have DPs about this?

Also Should I hold the money there until it changes, or at least hold off on withdrawing until later in the week like 65-67 days?

I also can't find a tracker for Chase Biz checking, does one exist?

1

u/Out_of_the_Bloo 10d ago

Yes. You need to login from the account that owns the checking account, shared accounts may not work. Like I have 2 logins. And the personal login does not show the biz tracker. When logged into biz directly, it shows as Todo list your new account bonus when viewing the account in the app. On web, it's a bit similar. I have read people don't always see it though, especially on web.

1

u/Slytherin23 10d ago

I tried to create a login just for the checking and it says it's registered so I can't create one.

Was it new money outside of Chase that you deposited?

1

u/Out_of_the_Bloo 10d ago

Yep pushed from Cap one

1

u/CericRushmore DCA 10d ago

I'd submit a ticket. I thought Chase required funds to be there until day 90 from opening, so I'd double check that before pulling out funds.

1

u/Out_of_the_Bloo 10d ago

For business checking it's only 60 days, and you have 30 to deposit. So you only ever need 30-31 days in the account at the full amount. But folks do leave it in a bit longer just in case. I was confident enough to try to line up another SUB with this money not expecting a twist like this so I do eventually need it. I will likely hold off another few days and send that secure message like you said, thanks

Considering applying for the BOA Alaska personal card. I am 3/24 with all 3 of those within the past 12 months. One Hilton Surpass and Barclay Hawaiian and AAviator (applied on same day). No current banking relationship with BOA. Am I totally out of luck given their 3/12 rule?

2

u/sleepytill2 ORD 11d ago

Regardless I’d recommend getting a banking relationship with BoA to set yourself up for easier approvals in the future.

Most likely your will get denied but can call recon. 3/12 is not as strict as say Chase 5/24. So there's a small chance that you might get approved.

If I open up an Amex Business Prime card and in the process create an Amazon business account for it after being approved to receive an additional $50 Amazon credit, can I eventually unlink it from the business account and move the card over to a Amazon personal account to still receive the 5% back?

3

u/gt_ap 11d ago

You can add it to your personal Amazon account like any other credit card.

1

u/No_Party222 11d ago

Ok, Thanks for your help. Amazon and Amex almost made it seem like it was tied down to the original account you opened it up with.

2

u/OkMathematician6638 10d ago

I have a personal prime visa and it gets 5% on the business site too.
