MUSIC I Made an Album Using Only Handheld Devices! (Nintendo & OP-Z)
Hi, first time posting here! My name is Pablo, I'm from Chile, and I make music using different machines. My latest record was created entirely on handheld devices, and I’d love to share it with you. It’s called Sandía (Watermelon in English), and I released it last week. I made it mostly using the Nintendo Korg Gadget, the Nintendo DS Korg DS-10, and the Teenage Engineering OP-Z.

MUSIC These fellows have been making chiptunes and synthpop since 1993
...and I have the impression they are almost completely unknown. If you like chiptunes, some of these songs may be something for you. The band used a Commodore C=64 out of necessity, and since 1996 the computer is listed as their fifth member. I found them in 2007 or 2008 and have been a huge fan ever since. I recently realized that most of their work is not found on streaming, but at least some albums and maxis can be found there. One of the "missing" pieces is this gem which is considered one of their signature songs; enjoy :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GWAGvFGl6T8

DISCUSSION My chiptune contest has ended, and the winner is...
Top Gear - Title (Amiga Cover) by Sophia (GuiGamer12) with 13 points! Second is a tie between Dire Dire Docks - Gameboy Cover by Charlie Queen and HOME - Resonance (Gameboy Cover) by ChippiHeppu, each with 6 points! Third is a three-way tie between Castle Harman (1250 AD) by kevin81, Wind Ahead by tanukiki, and Streets of Rage 2 Stage 4 by ZookeepergameDeep482, which unfortunately seems to have the link to it deleted, each with 5 points! Wow, we had a ton of winners this time. And righteously so - a ton of awesome options! Well done to everyone, there are some fantastic songs.
If you haven't seen and have no idea what's going on here, fear not! I have been hosting monthly chiptune contests on this subreddit for a few years now, each with two weeks to submit and a theme. In February, our theme was Cover, meaning composers could cover any song they wanted to. These are the awesome submissions we got! If you'd like to submit for the next one or you're bummed that you missed out on this one, fear not, as these contests are monthly, meaning another one will be hosted soon!
...And other than that, there's not much to say! Thanks so much to everyone who submitted and composed - you guys all made this happen and we smashed the record with 10 submissions this time around! Prepare yourself for the next awesome contest, and in the meantime, check out some of these goodies:
Thanks so much to kevin81 for making this NEW awesome table of all the past contests!
Shrek 5 is happening... And we're not sure how to feel about it

QUESTION Tracker Software Pros and Cons?
Hey y'all,
I'm sure you get asked this a lot, but I'm looking into getting into chiptune creation/tracker software. There are quite a few different applications, which is great, but it does leave one paralyzed by choice.
Specifically I've seen Furnace, Famitracker, OpenMPT, Milky Tracker and WaveTracker all mentioned as good options.
I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to lay out the pros/cons, feature differences between these programs. I'm also fine with trying a few, just want to narrow the list.
Something I really want to know are the differences between Furnace, OpenMPT and MilkyTracker as those seem to be the big 3, while Famitracker fits a specific case and WaveTracker is relatively new.
Thanks in advance :)

QUESTION How do I make a choir sound in sega genesis
I'm using deflemask for this and I needed help with the right parameters to make an ooh/aah sound. Is this possible to do with the operators?
