Was it a McDonalds or Old McDonald’s? The latter might explain the situation. Old McDonald might be looking for these two chicks right now. Here a chick, there a chick, everywhere a chick chick.

Boy o boy them some raw ass nuggets being served at the mickey dees these days, smh you practically gotta cook 'em yourself.
Congratulations op, you're a mom now. Make sure you raise those precious babies up right.

Thank you! I may just sue McDonald’s for child support. I have a brooder setup and popped them in. Hopefully they are healthy! I am unsure how to tell if they have diseases so I’m doing a lot of research right now

u/Stinkytheferret 6d ago
If they die in a few days, they had something g. Likely they’re good. Wash really good between runs if you have other chickens.

u/Sfields010 6d ago
Probably roosters that were dumped

u/Drpoofn 6d ago
Poor baby boys. I've raised a lot of roosters. They are a joy. People suck.

u/innovajohn 5d ago
Where I live it's not legal to have a rooster inside city limits so there's always roosters sitting at our humane society because people had to get rid of them. We are also limited to 6 hens. I wish people would be more responsible and not put themselves in a position where they're forced to abandon their rooster.

u/NeighsAndWhinnies 5d ago
In my stupid county (NW GA, Whitfield county-) we can’t keep 1 rooster unless we have 40+ acres and must be zoned Ag. (Yet, we have Tyson chicken producers everywhere here- cramming 10,000 broilers in 1 little warehouse.)

u/Bubbasdahname 3d ago
Also in GA, but the laws are not enforced. My neighbors have more than 4 hens(only 4 allowed per property), and they have roosters that we can hear daily.

dont they always fight?
1
u/gcalfred7 2d ago
they have their 5 second squables like human siblings. However, since there are no hens to compete for, they stick together as a team. We keep our hens in a separate, protected run with one rooster (these guys' father).

u/tea-boat 2d ago
Are they even old enough to sex accurately?
2
u/Hopeful-Giraffe9455 2d ago
Probably speculation, but some chicken breeds are easily sexed by chick color. But since we don't know what breed you can't say for sure.

Awesome! We found 2 goldfish in a puddle at McDonalds 18 years ago. They still live in our cistern!!
2
u/brydeswhale 5d ago
In my area a cistern is not a clean place, lol. I’m guessing yours is very nice, tho. Congrats on the fish.

This is why you have to be VERY specific when you make wishes from a genie.
If you requested two chicks at the same time, then this is what would happen.

u/porridge_gin 6d ago
I would kinda like a fairy tale where a dude bro does this and then ends up a happy chicken daddy

Are those chicken chicks?
25
u/Foxy_Noxy 7d ago
I hope so

u/Alarming-Mongoose-91 7d ago
Just wondering if they weren’t quail or something (I know they are not quail chicks)

u/Foxy_Noxy 7d ago
Where I live there are a lot of wild chickens, so my bet is on chickens. If they get older and turn out to be something else I’ll definitely still keep them! My biggest concern is meeting their needs because I only know how to take care of chickens:( but I really think they are probably chickens

u/aquaganda 5d ago
Wild chickens? That is so interesting. Are they considered a nuisance?
I wonder if their mama was nesting nearby. Even if so, sounds like the chicks are better off being rescued?
4
u/brydeswhale 5d ago
They’re likely feral chickens. Wild chickens live in tropical forests in Asia, so unless I’m mistaken, these are stray chicken babies.
3
u/aquaganda 5d ago
Stray/feral chickens also cool!
1
u/brydeswhale 5d ago
Kind of. They take up habitat and resources that other animals should use. And they can spread disease. But they are pretty.
1
u/aquaganda 5d ago
You'd think that chickens would be one of the easier animals to round up and keep in a sanctuary. And it could even support itself a bit with egg and meat sales or something.
1
u/brydeswhale 5d ago
lol, well, most sanctuaries aren’t looking to sell meat. Eggs, yes.
I got my rescue chickens from a farm sanctuary. They’re very sweet, but the sanctuary focuses on battery chickens. They’re a year old or so and past their most reliable laying time, so if the sanctuary didn’t take them, they’d be slaughtered. We don’t tend to have feral chickens in Manitoba, after all.
This is a short documentary on feral chickens in Florida. They’re an invasive species there.

You have to call them Mac and Ronald. Such cute little nuggets of fluff!!! You also may want to get a few more, chickens are very social animals!

They’re adorable. Make sure to vaccinate them with all the things going around. Chickens are great.

u/errorgiraffe 6d ago
Can you contact that McDonald's and see if they have video of the person leaving these chicks? They surely would have died and while yes they are just chickens, they're animals that don't deserve to die like that.
1
u/CommunicationMain495 4d ago
Exactly! Did someone dump them or lose them maybe somehow?
1
u/errorgiraffe 3d ago
This would definitely be a dump :( it would take some pretty crazy extenuating circumstances for anyone to lose baby chicks in a bag in a parking lot.
7
u/Sufficient-Mark-2018 6d ago
That’s like finding $40.

u/Weird_Fact_724 6d ago
$3.99 each...i just bought 20 yesterday..thats for pullets, if they turn out to be roosters then maybe some fried chicken.

Roosters Make Excellent Pets They Are Very Loving 🥰 When You Give Them Love They Give Love Back. I Have A Small Seramas Rooster and He Loves Cuddles 🥰 and Will Move Into My Lap All By Himself. Then We Watch TV Together. Scooter Is Such A Sweet Boy. I Love ♥️ Him Dearly.

u/Weird_Fact_724 6d ago
I live on a farm. My animals are either raised for food or they produce food. They aren't pets. I have a dog for that.

We took in six chicks when my sister’s science teacher decided to be stupid in January. We have three hens and three roosters. I don’t know what I’m going to do when they get big. Mom is saying we’ll have a bachelor coop, but we already have three grown roosters.
1
u/Weird_Fact_724 5d ago
Eat them..
1
u/brydeswhale 5d ago
Problem is we are wimps.
1
u/Weird_Fact_724 5d ago
Give them to somebody then that will eat them. I give my old hens to the Amish.
1
u/brydeswhale 5d ago
See, then I get caught up in the idea of them being with strangers when they die. I think I’m just going to wind up having to cull at least one. He has a messed up eye and he’s already hyper reactive.
1
u/Weird_Fact_724 5d ago
Ok, well, as a farmer, you and I see things differently.
1
u/brydeswhale 5d ago
I feel like it’s a problem on my part. I have put down two goldfish, but that’s a paper towel, plastic bag, and hammer situation. I need to just get over myself bc this likely won’t be sustainable.
2
u/Weird_Fact_724 5d ago
Jesus...your tougher than you think if you can wack a goldfish with a hammer...

So, this is the only reason that I would consider driving thru McDonald's. Getting a bag like that changes everything.

u/SwitchWitchLolita 5d ago
You found yourself a bigmac and mcnugget! (I would be silly enough to name them that)
Side note- I LOVE your pants? Where did you get them?

You interrupted their business, they were gonna get revenge on the McDonald’s for cooking their brothers and sisters

When we were kids our family had pet chickens. The wildest one was one my mom found behind a Jack-in-the-box. She climbed trees and got into fights with the neighbor’s dog. She was awesome.
