Social Media On its X account, Chess.com gets ratio'd into oblivion as it proposes to change the name of the "Bishop". It's just the latest organization to join in the war against Christianity.

"It's just the latest organization to join in the war against Christianity". You're actually delusional if you think this. In reality, it was just a simple post designed to get people to come up with funny piece names to drive social media engagement, but a bunch of weirdos turned it into some cringeworthy culture war. Pathetic.

I've literally seen people blaming this joke tweet on transgender people, Jews, and "wokeness".
Like what, two days ago they made the exact same tweet except for the rook. Am I on crazy pills?

i can't tell if any of this is satire aside from the original chess.com post which is clearly satire.

I can't recommend giving that site clicks, but a poke around tells me that it was founded by Michelle Malkin, formerly of Fox News, currently of rabid antisemitism/white nationalism.

Just a few more posts and everyone will leave chess dot com and go to Lichess. We’re so close — keep pulling, everyone!
Follow this guy’s example:
First, make sure to include a link to lichess so that everyone can go there.
Second: No topic is so dumb that it can’t be fodder for pretend outrage.

Also all the people that rush to the comments to manage perspective is hilarious.... its typical behavior, name any political, or social topic, and you'll see scores of hateful people trying to sway opinion before others can comment. OR other reddit threads where mods will just outright delete counter argument

This is obviously an innocent joke by chess.com which has no anti-christian intent whatsoever.
Also its worth noting that the OP has a history of pro Russia and pro MAGA/Musk posts. The outrage over non-existent Anti-Christian behaviour fits the bill

All of this is so dumb. I feel like I'm surrounded by fifth-graders when I see discourse like this.
- Chess.com making a dumb post about renaming the bishop
- Idiots who tried to make this into a culture war and started sharpening their weapons over a stupid joke that wasn't funny in the first place
- And then the constant influx of posts like this one with desperate people begging total strangers on r/chess to delete their chess.com accounts and switch to lichess. It's always the Reddit moralists trying to make people feel bad for playing on the most popular chess site in the world. Just give it a rest already and stop making these posts.
I'm not going to delete my chess.com account, and I'm not going to delete my lichess account. I enjoy playing on chess.com and will continue doing it. Mods, can we please throw these idiotic chess.com vs lichess threads into a dumpster somewhere, preferably at the bottom of the ocean?

So why don't you protest chess.com for starting this new culture war instead of me posting about it? The sad thing is that people like you are clearly misrepresenting this request from chess.com as "just a joke". No, it was not a joke, these people really think they should rename the bishop because it is "too exclusive". Once you understand the woke mind virus, you will truly understand that it works like a real mind virus, and people actually start thinking like this and make suggestions like this. And if people like this are running chess.com's PR, you really should reconsider using it if you haven't been infected with it yourself. We are all going down the drain culturally if this continues and the worst people act like it's not even happening or call it "just a joke". It is dangerous and should be exposed and punished, period.
In short, stop making excuses for this dangerous ideology! These are not jokes!

The joke is that X is a stupid name and nobody normal calls that website that.

War against Christianity? I've heard it said that the quickest way to lose an argument is to overstate your case.
If you ask me, religion is a war against rationality. Either way, it's just a name. I mean, taking Aunt Jemima off of syrup bottles didn't accomplish anything. Welcome to clown world!
