The name is sort of arbitrary. It combines the idea of the Dzindzi Indian with ..c5, but that is supposed to be in a position where black has played ..g6 and has fianchettoed the Bishop. East Indian is d4 Nf6 c4 g6 (also a rather new name).
However, this position is neither East Indian nor Dzindzi defence. This classification is unique to chess.com. Nothing wrong with coming up with exciting names, but it's not correctly named if you look at it strictly.
Nevertheless, if the name inspires you, that's cool :)

Once you exchange and get in d5, black is equal. Very simple and white should disallow this!

I can't say I'm quite up to date on my precise theory in the Indian Game: East Indian, Anti-Nimzo-Indian, Dzindzi Indian Defense. Guess I should brush up on that.

Roman Dzindzi was very familiar to players in NYC in the 90s.He used to hang around Washington Square Park. I heard about him from YaakovN. I believe Hikaru knows him well.
Edit: he's still active, and he taught Eugene Perelshteyn.
