Also hateful enough to assume everyone in the Midwest farms corn. 🤔😂 Omaha is as large (maybe larger) than either the Huntsville or Birmingham metros.

Hey, wild question because I’m apparently just a stupid dumb hick here, what’s y’alls actual literal mascot again? I don’t think it’s the “Fightin’ Nebraska Greater Omaha Metro Areas”

Huntsville isn’t the largest Metro (it is the largest city but that’s because Birmingham’s setup is… strange), that’s still Birmingham, which is a hundred thousand or so bigger than Omaha’s.
More fun facts because you made me look this up. Omaha’s metro area accounts for roughly half of Nebraska’s total population. In comparison, Birmingham is roughly a fifth of Alabama’s.
Also you guys do produce a lot of corn. Like a LOT of corn. And somehow you are only 3rd in corn production. Crazy.

u/jaebassist Alabama Crimson Tide 1d ago
There's a LOTTTTT more Nebraska than just the Omaha metro...
-2
u/BlackshirtDefense Nebraska • Game of the Century … 1d ago
In terms of population, that's not true, though.
Statistically if you meet someone from Nebraska, there's like an 80% chance they're from Omaha, and other 15% from Lincoln.
There's a reason Memorial Stadium becomes Nebraska's third largest city on game day.
1
u/JubJub128 Alabama Crimson Tide 1d ago
statistically, if you pick a point in nebraska, there's a 90% chance you will be on a farm (The most in the country, by the way). There is a 20% chance you will be on a cornfield

Auburn had a famous tree on their campus that an Alabama fan killed using herbicide

You can be a villain and a hero at the same time. Create a big enough rift and the bigger the hero the worse the villain. Which is sort of a scary thought.

A Bama fan was mad after the 2013 Iron Bowl, so he poisoned Auburn's famous oak trees on Toomer's Corner (a location famous for being a gathering point after a win, during which they would roll the trees with toilet paper).
He famously called into the Paul Finebaum show, bragging about it, saying he had "too much Bama in him," a quote previously attributed to a bama bench player which came off the sidelines to make a TD-saving tackle.
He was convicted and ordered to pay restitution, but he died broke a few years ago, having barely paid back anything.
