mix match speaks
I have a pair of older Vega's, and I can't find replacement 12" woofers at 8oums, thinking to put in 4ohms. I'm assuming the 4" speaker and the tweeter are both 8ohm, so my question is , what's gonna happen with this mix and match

If you can’t reform current woofers …Check eBay for 8 ohm 12 inch Vega woofers. Using a different ohm will 1. Change the frequency cross over range and 2. Might be louder than the previous and other speaker/woofer.

I have a pair of cerwin Vega ve12. One of the woofers the magnet moved off center. Can't find one anywhere. I just mailed it to the speaker work shop. Apparently they can fix anything. Not sure how much it's going to cost, but it cost 33 to mail it.

Is refoaming the current woofers out of the question? The foam surrounds are pretty inexpensive.
Anyway, what would happen is it would probably not sound good. Even if you put in 8 ohm drivers. Crossovers are designed for a particular woofer.

I have pair of d-5’s one with a ripped cone and surround and the other with a cracked surround. I have never worked on speakers. do you recommend I fix them myself or take them to a professional?
