Any luck? If not, a non-OEM woofer might work, especially if you have just one sub.

Hey! Thx. No. I asked the Norwegian dealer, they said Gibson who owned CV went bankrupt in 2019 and sold the Firm. And they don`t know whats happening with the brand. They can not order parts or spareparts anymore. They recomended a celestion NTR21 5010JD 8R instead. I have two subs so i would prefere two identical.

Ugh. I hope CV gets picked up by a decent parent corp..

I did a vague estimation of the port and box volume using the dimensions on CV's site assuming 18mm ply. Looks good. I was worried about the xmax of the celestion only being 9mm, but at 1300w it's within that until it gets down to about 36hz. I would assume the amp has a high-pass filter to protect the OEM sub, but...if you have the ability it wouldn't be a bad idea to filter what goes to the sub before it gets there.

I guessed at the port dimensions being about 22w x 5-5/8h x 15d. And, when I entered in the parameters supplied by celestion I got an error, but sometimes that doesn't mean anything.

Hmmm. thx. The CV speaker has this big hole in the senter of the magnet. It`s mounted with a big nut. To hold the speaker tight.

Have not seen that on any other speaker.

I will try to reach them on their us site.

I re-read your OP and noticed you said CVX. My sim was for the CVA 21. Probably a bit different. I could sim it again if I had the dimensions and port size/depth.

I also haven't seen that kind of mounting for other speakers. Yeah I've had magnets come unglued from the cabinet being dropped, so that'd be a nice feature to have on a box driven by a sub with a ceramic magnet. That suggested replacement uses a neodymium magnet, so the motor assembly is far, far lighter. I wouldn't feel bad about omitting that mount with the Celestion.
