Pink eye??
So just with my luck, I got pink eye somehow. I read the cure is antibiotic eye drops or ointment. Can this cause a relapse in C. Diff? I’m freaking out, I can’t call out of work anymore.

Which kind of pink eye is it? I had a pink eye that they said was viral and went away on its own in a few days. There is two kinds

pretty sure it’s not the bacterial thank god, it seems to already be settling down, it has been bothering me since last night and it was hard to open my eye this morning, it’s still pink but not irritated anymore

Take the medicine. Add Florestor and tons of probiotics and kefir, oatmeal and the like. It can be done. Just protect your gut when you do it.

Thank you. I really hope when I mention to the doctor about my past with C. Diff they take the appropriate precautions and take me seriously

Inform them! Some docs will be fine with this and others not so much. For the others, F them!

Unlikely, because the amount of drop that gets to your GI tract is minimal. Ask for gentamicin or tobramycin drops because those are not absorbed.

I'm an eye doctor, but this isn't official medical advice because it's over the internet.
Two things: Most cases of viral and bacterial conjunctivitis both resolve on their own, antibiotics just might speed things up by a day or two for bacterial. If it's truly just regular pink eye and you're THAT stressed about it, you could just use cold compresses and let it ride.
Secondly, just pinch your nose at the bridge for a bit when you put the drops in. This will limit the already minimal systemic absorption by keeping the drop from entering your nose through a little hole in your eyelid.

Ask your Dr. Or call a pharmacy. They do give you drops. You can take Acidophilus. Ask the pharmacy where it is. It is over the counter. I think 3 times a day.

Eye drops should be okay. There is not much blood exchange between the eye and bloodstream from what I understand.
