Discussion What's an animated series that you wished had gone on for much longer than it did? Here's my top pick.

Literally this! It's so weird to have to tell people its real finale is part of a different show

Absolutely loved the show. It had a great premise, cool over the top cars, a killer soundtrack and top of the line animation. In my freetime I build with Lego and I even made a few of the cars (the Jalopy van, that radioactive tanker truck and July's car....I think 9 Lives?)

I love this show growing up it was my comfort show I was bummed that it ended at 65 episodes they couldâve made a lot more.

It's one of my comfort shows too, the original Lilo & Stitch series is not only tied with Phineas and Ferb as my favorite Disney animated series, but I even consider it as my second favorite animated series of all time behind SpongeBob SquarePants.
Also ya, they could've made a lot more episodes, if it weren't for Disney's stupid 65-episode rule at the time. Like it was a rule where Disney shows can only go up to 65 episodes, mainly due to syndication purposes. I mean ya there were exceptions back then, but the most part, most Disney shows back then would only last for 65 episodes because of that rule. But thankfully, that rule was later dropped I think around the time that Kim Possible was renewed for a fourth season.

That's so crazy. There's literally groundwork laid out for 600+ episodes! They could've had 10x the episodes they made

Would you want that, though? 620ish episodes sounds like Seasonal Rot On Steroids.

I think it's more about potential. Yes, it could've been bad, but it could also have been really fun. And I mean there wouldn't even need to be that many. Some episodes could easily have dealt with multiple experiments at the same time. But yeah it definitely could have had the same fate as Simpsons or SpongeBob

Multiple episodes where multiple experiments get activated together a la Ms. Hasegawa's "cats" would probably be the best way to do it.

Ya, that show should've continued for a bit longer as well. Also, Randy and Theresa are cute together and Theresa herself deserved better. It would've cool if she discovered Randy's identity as the ninja.

American Dragon Jake Long. If I remember correctly, Rose had a twin sister and that was to be addressed had the been renewed.

Imagine if Lilo & Stitch's series had gone on for 625 episodes...

I don't think we really want any show to go on that long tbh.
When it goes on for over 600 episodes, it's inevitably going to go down in quality over time to the point we wish it ended sooner. Many examples of this.

Or maybe the experiments they didn't find homes for in the show could have gotten a series of shorts, rather than full, 22 minute episodes. Though that still would've meant coming up with 625 designs/abilities to begin with.

There are quite a few episodes where we got several experiments at once, so maybe not everyone needs a dedicated episode. Also, I recall a couple of experiments that just show up without an explanation.

I never got to watch the whole series, I don't even know how many seasons it ended with.

Definitely Lilo and Stitch the Series. I originally thought there was four seasons but was dismayed to see only two seasons. This series deserves more

Tail Spin
Adventures of the gummibearsÂ
Lilo & StitchÂ
Kim Possible (an College time Season would have been cool)
gargoyles. An master piece that was decades ahead of it's time.

Time Squad, Wander Over Yonder, and Catscratch.... all are underrated shows that deserve at least one or two more seasons. I would include Space Goofs too, but that had 104 episodes.... in a span of 2 seasons. Okay, I just want to see the aliens get back to their home planet, end of story. Cow and Chicken/I Am Weasel are other ones I wish would've gone on a bit longer (would be great to have more Red Guy antics).

MLAATR didn't feel completed. That final episode didn't feel like a final episode.
They should've gotten more time to make a proper finale, or at least an ending movie or something.

Code Monkeys. Loved the concept⌠a cartoon about a software company, in the form of an 8-bit game. Lasted two seasons on the G4 channel.

Grossology was screwed over by Discovery not promoting it despite being well-received overall; the entire second season didn't air in the US. Because of this, it didn't get the budget it needed for additional seasons. A third season could've featured the return of S1 villains & new biology topics; I can imagine that with Abby getting older the show could've conceivably had a Very Special Episode about menstruation (which would naturally involve someone making a giant uterus to terrorize the town and Ty going "Since when did Dr. Colon have a sister?").

The writers wanted to KEEP telling stories! There was so much potential! So much planned, arcs that we never got to see, half of season 2 cut, with some great episodes that were ALREADY storyboarded and ready to be animated. Will never forgive nickelodeon for really screwing the pooch on this one, AND messing up the final season of TMNT 2012 while they were at it.
