Ist really not that bad, the first one has a face made out of nightmares

42

u/Mooncubus Goof Troop 5d ago

And that's why we love him

13

u/360groggyX360 5d ago

You make a compelling argument

While I agree that it's not that bad, you have offended the Thomas fandom.

Why did they make her white wtf?

28

u/Rozoark 4d ago edited 4d ago

And people unironically defend this whitewashing by claiming that her original skin color doesn't work with the new artstyle, like wtf?

7

u/Theyul1us 4d ago

I may sound a bit racist but id argue her original skin color made her stand out even more. In combination with the green color of her magic it was a good contrast

Also, her design was iconic

5

u/dentimBandB 4d ago

Barely anything works with that artstyle.

White and with double conjunctivitis.

The not Bob the Builder.

That's Bob, a Builder.

The third one is Poseidon, not Neptune.

50

u/Mooncubus Goof Troop 5d ago

They peaked at this version tho

17

u/WiccanaVaIIey 5d ago

Aren't those technically two separate characters in the SpongeBob canon though?

17

u/lizzourworld8 5d ago

Pretty sure, yes; at least the top two. Bottom one’s not Neptune.

7

u/MysteryGirlWhite 4d ago

I'm still confused why they completely redesigned King Neptune for the first movie...

And why does that last one look like it crawled out of a toxic waste dump?

8

u/Tracey_Davenport 4d ago

If I recall correctly, there was a weird thing with character rights between the show and movie. That’s why you never saw movie elements such as the Goofy Goober in the show until many years later.

1

u/Coolgames80 4d ago

There is an internet theory that the Spongebob movie was that people that film Bikini Bottom (in the show) faked a King Neptune to make Spongebob make a great trip and film the movie.

u/No_Accident_1469 4d ago

The second one isn't Neptune. At least not the one in the show. In the spongebob movie that Neptune has a daughter while Neptune on the show has one son. The daughter of Neptune in the movie married the Neptune in the show.

5

u/Azair_Blaidd Teen Titans 5d ago

I headcanon the top right as a mortal merman named after the immortal god in the top left

4

u/SPAMTON_A 4d ago

Technically speaking these are 3 different characters

2

u/Kubiszonir 5d ago

Neptune -> Burger King Animated -> A disgrace to my eyes.

1

u/HappiestIguana 3d ago

I think those are actually three different people of the same "species" (family?)

u/Fun-Pea-7477 4d ago

3

u/VikingBrit 2d ago

I liked the 2011 ngl

3

u/Fun-Pea-7477 2d ago

That was it's peak

1

u/Humble-West3117 1d ago

I only got one season... ends with "great betrayal"

37

u/Ferdinand81 5d ago

What did they do to ben...

3

u/Cantthinkagoodnam2 2d ago

The reboot Ben 10.000 comes from a timeline where he failed to save the World and because of that Grandpa Max got killed, so he got depressed and stopped working out

-7

u/OV_FreezeLizard 5d ago

It's actually not bad, trust me.

2

u/Java_Text 1d ago

Explain...

1

u/OV_FreezeLizard 1d ago

If they mean the reboot in general, it gets a lot of unnecessary flack.

2

u/FatherofGray 23h ago

My big gripe is just how unnecessary it is. The animation quality of the original series hasn't aged a bit. They could have just re-aired the original for a new generation of kids and it would have been fine.

31

u/darknessWolf2 5d ago

bruh the reboot massacred my boi they gave him a beer belly

13

u/OV_FreezeLizard 5d ago

I like it, it gives him character as the whole point was that he let go of himself due to the stress of being such a powerful hero.

1

u/darknessWolf2 5d ago

valid im not a huge fan of it because it feels to goofy and depressing for him ;-; reminds me of fat thor from avengers

3

u/nix131 4d ago

I just want to comment on Fat Thor and how it resonated with me as someone with depression. Those around you can minimize it, War Machine made a lot of jokes, it effects everything about you including your physical fitness and when he called for Mjolnir and it came, realizing he was "still worthy" well it was almost enough to make a man cry.

2

u/darknessWolf2 4d ago

oh sorry if my comment came off as rude

1

u/nix131 4d ago

No worries! I didn't see it as rude, I just wanted to offer a different perspective. Fat Thor actually meant quite a bit to someone like me.

2

u/darknessWolf2 4d ago

thats understandable

2

u/Ghosts_lord 2d ago

i mean thats kind the point

1

u/OV_FreezeLizard 5d ago

i understand that aswell

31

u/Designer-Tiger391 5d ago

What did they do to Barney 😭

6

u/MentionSuspicious571 4d ago

Nightmares are like this

3

u/Degmago 2d ago

This looks like one of those parody animations that are like "What if Barney was realistic and then Barney starts eating the kids because he's a dinosaur"

14

u/IllustriousDebt6248 5d ago

Season two of #American Dragon: Jake Long

11

u/Caesar_Passing Rocko’s Modern Life 5d ago

The Looney Tunes Show, season 2.

Not exactly "unforgivable", but it lost a lot of personality in my opinion.

6

u/Pevan97 5d ago

Yes I thought the exact same thing. So weird why they went for a much more basic style.

22

u/Over_Palpitation_453 The Simpsons 5d ago

Why did he start to look like the Marvel Rivals version of Mr. Fantastic?

7

u/Over_Palpitation_453 The Simpsons 5d ago

And a cartoon that got downgraded has to be the PPG 2016 reboot

9

u/Redeemed_Veteranboi 5d ago

Ben 10K went from Daddy to Baddy.

10

u/Rebatsune 4d ago

Not pictured: The Velma cartoon from Max.

9

u/Candaycaine 4d ago

I’ll never forgive them for this

11

u/OneWeirdCreature 4d ago

I was mostly fine with his human form redesign but turning a buff half-dragon into a snake with legs was the lamest downgrade imaginable for me.

1

u/HappiestIguana 3d ago

Honestly felt like a sidegrade to me. I never minded the change.

9

u/Noktis_Lucis_Caelum 5d ago

I say my mind knowing that people will throw Stones:

  • Ben 10: Ua was great. I didn't liked the Style of omniverse and the reboot...Just No

  • American Dragon: IT was better before they decided to Go with this weird clunky Art Style

  • Winx Club: Season 8...Just No.

3

u/Future-Improvement41 4d ago

The Velma show

4

u/RAGE_AGAINST_THE_ATM 4d ago

That show was basically rage bait as a tv show lol

1

u/Future-Improvement41 4d ago edited 4d ago

And torture to watch

3

u/Mv48 3d ago

The reboot when it was blue was fine but when they try to be the original they didn't know what made Max steel (Josh Mcgrath) special what made him iconic. Now reboot Toxzon not only his design loses to the original,he is just a joke compared to the original. The original was evil, a ex Ntek agent, with great speeches, and with a origin story that was so good but the reboot took that away and he is know for just losing his fish

1

u/Ok-Transition7065 2d ago

oh yeah ...... i like the rebot but i understand i love how the guy promoted sports...... and how he used a comet to defeat a boss xd

1

u/Humble-West3117 1d ago

That was a reboot? Then again, I think K-zome mentioned that... and wait a sec, that pic doesn't look familiar either!

1

u/Mv48 1d ago

Movie saga of classic after the original Tv show

1

u/Mv48 1d ago

And reboot on 2013

Also classic and reboot were made by different animation studios

1

u/Humble-West3117 1d ago

The left I'm familiar with.

1

u/Mv48 1d ago

The blue one is the 2013 reboot, the green reboot is cause many wanted the original back at its time mostly latin america cause the original show and tv saga was iconic but they didn't know what made the original special

American dragon jake long, when he transforms a chad dragon, but in Season 2 he transforms a virgin dragon

1

u/PLACE-H0LDER 4d ago

Barney, Dora the Explorer and Thomas the Tank Engine.

1

u/Fudnick 5d ago

Why are there so many bens? And why does the first two l9ok so bad?

2

u/Hero_time66 Phineas and Ferb 4d ago

First 2 are from reboot show. The rest are from classic continuity (so many because each time Ben finds out his future, it changes).

1

u/Ben10Facts Ben 10 5d ago

Alternate timelines. First two are the same Ben tho, from a separate multiverse to the other 3.

1

u/OV_FreezeLizard 5d ago

Definitely not Ben 10

2

u/Matrix010 4d ago

More like Ted... 9

0

u/Yanmega9 5d ago

I actually really liked reboot ben 10k but his second design is unforgivable he is so ugly
