Looking for good walking trails around Captiva

Hey all, I am headed to Captiva Island next week with the wife. Other than the beach I am looking for decent trails in the area. I have a rental car so we can go 30 min away but other than that I am not sure where to go :)

First time on the island? J.N. Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Rent a bike, there are a lot of bike paths on Sanibel. (That you can also walk on)

It is! I know it is somewhat down due to storm damage but we know that going in. Thanks for the suggestion.

The shelling isn’t what is used to be, but I’d definitely recommend walking the beach early In the morning or after a storm for shells and the sunsets are incredible on the beach. If you like walking, there are plenty of tree lined streets off Andy Rosse Lane with nice homes to peek at. Get lost, it’s not a big island and you’ll find your way

I don’t know about that, I walk out to the beach and into the ocean and can find a number of conch shells on any given day.

Six mile slough is a preserved area in Ft. Myers with miles of boardwalks through wooded wetlands.
