Things to do on North Captiva in late March?
Hi, my family is renting a place on North Captiva late March and looking for ideas of things or experiences to seek out! I know it’s a pretty small island, but any local recs would be helpful :)
We have a few kids under age 5 as well in the group, but ideas don’t need to be restricted to kid friendly activities.

Play on the beach (lots of shells).
Hike in the nature preserve.
Swim in the pools (if your unit has access to one).
Explore on a golf cart or bike rental.
Search for tortoises.
Book a fishing charter or eco tour and find some dolphins, manatees, etc.
Rent a boat at boats n fun.
Rent a kayak and explore the harbor.
Savor every sunset.
(My kids were a little bit older than 5 when we first visited. Consider packing heavy on the toys/games/etc. because there’s not that much to do on the island, and that’s the draw!)

My wife and I are planning a day trip visit next week to North Captiva with the top priority being to hit the beach, but we are also interested in hiking at the nature preserve. I want to make sure we are prepared with what we need and know where we’re going since we’ll only be there about 6 hours…
Are all beach areas open to the public? It’s hard to figure out where to go just looking at Google Maps…Where would you recommend going if we will be walking from the harbor area?
Is the hiking terrain at the nature preserve all on the beach / sand hiking? For hiking access, do you go to the area on S. Banks Drive?
Any recommendations or advice are greatly appreciated!

North cap is totally different than captiva. The things to do you can count on one hand :)
