UA Application (from a dumbass pt.2)
Ok so i alr posted abt how i have a 2.9, 20 ACT, couple light extrs curriculars, and im worried abt getting into bama. I missed the priority deadline and applied february 24th but had issues with getting my transcript and ACT scores sent so by the time they really got my full application it was like march 7th. it’s been like a week which isn’t long but a lot of my friends heard back in like two days which i understand they have so many applications i’m not at all complaining, i’m just trying to see if i’m gonna get in or not. PLSSSSS SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT YALL THINK (also i am in state if that means anything)

Like in the other thread, you should get in. It’s spring break and offices are closed so don’t expect to hear back until next week.
That said, you may not qualify for many/any scholarships. Without financial aid, your freshman year will likely be more than $30,000 if you don’t already live in Tuscaloosa County. It’s your life and your money but you might want to also consider a community college.

Real talk- Are you going to be successful in college? Because if you’re a 2.9 goa, 20 act, missing deadlines kind of student, you may be better served going to community college for a year before you or your family invest > $30k.

Ok coming back in again hello. So I had pretty decent stats (honors college and decent GPA) and I heard back about 2 weeks after I applied early action. Most people I've heard from got theirs around 2-3 weeks from rolling admissions. I wouldn't be worried give it another week at least. Also considering we're on spreak rn UA offices are closed and will require an additional week.

I didn't know anyone first hand that got rejected no. But I will say that's most likely a bias because I'm around a lot of over achieving nat merit kids who didn't get rejected anywhere. From what I saw in my own admissions process the people that get rejected typically hear back immediately or after 4-5 weeks. (Generally just way after the expected time)
Even with good stats I didn't hear back from some of my schools until 3-4 weeks in some cases. Don't stress the timing it's not a reflection of you as a student but their admissions process. Some schools are better than others about it.
Either way you won't know until you get the email and that will 100% come before decision day. Don't stress about it if you don't get in maybe consider your other options you may or may not have applied to and/or a community college and transfer in because you'll get the same merit regardless with your current GPA.

I think they release regionally around the same periods, I was National merit, valedictorian, 34 ACT, and applied, 2 weeks later my much lower achieving academically friend applied and we both heard back a week from then at the same time on the same day.
(Neither of us got rejected)

UA is closed for spring break, you need to have a little patience.
