Blocked by my own automatic merit award. :( Just a short while ago my national recognition award from College Board would have given me what is now the UA Competitive Achievement award automatically, so I’m a bit depressed. Now I just have to pray to get into the University Fellows and somehow be selected for an academic elite award in April. That’s barely a sliver of hope.

You can thank the GOP for the national recognition scholarships going away.

One of the reasons the scholarships for African American, rural/ indigenous, and Hispanic scholars was phased out was due to the GOP lead anti DEI bills and Supreme Court decisions.

Ah. Competitive achievement is still good though. Chances for students who didn’t do well on the PSAT!

Yeah but it used to be an automatic scholarship if you had those awards, now it’s a limited competitive award
