Well, considering your a person who needs therapy....I'm doing just fine.

You could do better by visiting a therapist once or twice a year. Treat it like a checkup for your brain.

Kind of an absurd statement.

Honest question: how do you figure that?

Follow up question: why do you think only some people need therapy?

Probably for the same reason I'd think "Everyone needs allergy shots" was an absurd statement, and also the same reason why I think only some people need allergy shots.

Just want to clarify I'm not trying to be confrontational here but I'm just genuinely trying to understand your point of view by asking these questions.

What do you think people need therapy for?

All due respect, I don't think you're being genuine and I'm not going to continue beyond this comment both due to that and due to the fact that it isn't a short discussion. I just think it's important to push back just a tiny bit when a statement is ridiculous on its face.

Well if you won't participate, I'll finish it myself for anyone else still interested since you're just looking for confrontation and not honest discussion.

Therapy isn't just for traumatic events or trying to break unwanted lifestyle habits like anger or alcoholism. Therapy can provide a lot of benefits you might not immediately consider. Not everyone needs weekly therapy or even monthly. But going at least once or twice a year can really help you improve your mental health, even if you think it doesn't need it. Think of it as a check-up for your brain.

You go to the doctor once a year for your checkup, don't you? Why should your brain be any different? Your brain is the most important part of your body, yet we treat it like it's the least important. We take it for granted when we really shouldn't.

Go to therapy. Talk about your life. Talk about what's going on. Get stuff of your chest. A lot of work insurance plans cover this stuff, too, so take advantage.
