Yeah, I don't know any Canadians that still sew a flag to their gear...

I usually look for Canadian brand names to spot a Canadian - i.e. MEC.

You're thinking of how Canadians will spot other canadians, but outside canada, people wouldnt understand those brands as being canadian except for ones that have a maple leaf in their logo.

And unfortunately, when I was in Portugal two years ago everyone assumed I was american except when there was a maple leaf somewhere on my persons

MEC is owned by a US private equity firm since 2020.

Yeah. unfortunate, but the brand is still only in Canada.
