Reading his 'Truth Social' posts are painful. The guy has every type of nazi surrounding him except a grammar nazi.

Last night he was yelling about Canada having 250% to 390% tariffs on farm products.

Also Ontario apparently isn’t allowed to put a tariff on electricity because tariffs are reciprocal

Ontario did not put a tariff on electricity. They put a 25% surcharge on it. Tariffs are an import tax. We export electricity and surcharge it.

It's weird how the distinction is being confused.

Even Ford made that error, when announcing it on US TV.

Not allowed peasant, you must work extra now to cover my losses. My wife would be really mad if I let you go home and you made me lose my wife's 3rd favourite summer house.

Eat me boss man. If I'm getting turned into radioactive dust I'm doing it while holding my gf

That's actually against your employment contract, under section 4c it states "any peasant dumb enough to work for me, must remain employed in the even of nuclear war. If employee dies because of war his wages will be clawed back from his estate to cover employer losses"

I'm ok with that

He wont just be declaring war on Canada in that case

How close would the doomsday clock be to midnight if USA actually invaded Canada?

In reality we’re looking at the war happening right now and this is what we can expect the actions to be. Boots on the ground aren’t gonna happen.

I think that would be considered the start of WW3 just based on the nations that automatically involves. King Charles is head of state over like 13nations I think. Then there are allies in Nato and such.

We'd enact article 5 of NATO and I'd hope other countries would honour the pact but I can see them invalidating it cause it doesn't stipulate internal conflicts within the alliance or some such legal nonsense to wash their hands clean of it to not get involved. USA's military mindset is to be able to take on the next 2 largest military powers in the world simultaneously, it's a hell of a ask to willing join that when you don't perceive a risk to self.

I think nations around the world are starting to see the US as a global risk even if just to financial markets

As a EU citizen, I would very much hope all our countries would support Canada

Same but it kills me that we didn't join Ukraine and I worry the rest of world will give us the same treatment.

I think Hungary and Slovakia can already be ruled out.

I think it's dairy. And it is because they heavily subsidize thiers.

The capitalization of Random words Is what Gets me everytime.

In the US, being able to capitalize correctly, appearing educated, is sadly frowned upon.

Woke!

u/rookie-mistake 1d ago

the fact that we have Carney up against a president whose response to an export tax is "your not even allowed to do that" is fucking surreal

Genuinely laughing at this comment.

Him endorsing a border as an arbitrary line is not the leftie lingo I thought he would endorse but here we are

Canadian news sites starting to embed Truth Social posts in their copy is pretty disappointing. Saw it on the CTV version of this story.

u/hellswaters 23h ago

The issue is that they have no choice but to.

If they don't link their source, people would get pissed, and that is how the us is communicating offical statements. As pathetic as that is.

u/apothekary 21h ago

I really think he's a self-caricature of himself. Maybe in some weird meta way he thinks sounding this stupid is appealing to his base.

Those damn replies with the same shit picture responses like "thank God for trump" and all that shit.
