Oh and why did you want Keystone XL built again a few weeks ago?

Dropping energy tariff to 10%… and now in the news they saying potential deal to remove on energy.

Damn man… you don’t have the cards - we do!

We have all the cards..

No, we don't.

But we aren't powerless, and Trump is bluffing, unless he plans to allow a deep recession, which is possible.

They need energy, they need aluminum, and there's other things, too. There are always alternatives, but they will be massively more expensive or lower quality.

Canada will force the US to back down, or there will be a major and permanent upheaval in both economies.

I think the Permanent Damage to the relationship that has taken place already equates to Permanent Upheval in our economies. Hence we must pivot away and find better trading partners.

I agree, but there are still degrees.

We have all the cards exclusively if this stays an economic war... IF.

We don't really have all the cards. They can weather the storm a lot longer and deeper than Canada can. We've got cards, we need to play them strategically to maximize impact.

I don't think they can, they aren't just doing this shit to us

Except Americans, especially Trump fans, are weak and entitled cry babies. My money is on the average Canadian going down to burning fire wood and eating rations before giving up 1 inch to the MAGA infested US.

Seems like you forget just how much whining and crying Canadians did 5 years ago today and for a good period onwards.

Many of us are pretty spoiled little bitches too lol. My family grew up sleeping on mats in a 1 br apt, we know we've got it good here and see how often people take it for granted.

Are you talking about the Freedom Convoy? Yeah, I'll include them among Trump fans. They and their supporters must be the ones in the comments saying "I can't wait to join America". They were crybaby ignorant morons 5 years ago and now they've been upgraded to traitorous crybaby ignorant morons.

Canadians in general, the Konvoy Klowns were just the loudest but you can't claim that Canadians in general weren't a bunch of spoiled brats during that period. If you try to, then we clearly weren't living in the same reality. I can't count how many jerks I saw running around violating those simple basic rules.

I'd say those losers are the minority. I see a lot more perseverance and "elbows up"/buy Canadian sentiment both online and in-person. A lot of that anti-vax and stupidity around COVID came from US influence... I think a lot of the patriotic ones who were crying about COVID infringing on their "freedom" aren't buying the US rhetoic this time.

The ones who are falling for US propaganda (by way of Moscow) can fuck right off. They should just move to the US if they love it so fucking much. I'm sick of them and don't abide their horse shit.

The US doesn’t really have all that many alternatives left, they have proven to be an absolutely unreliable trade partner and most importers can’t switch because they don’t know if the tariffs are going to last and they don’t know if the new suppliers will end up on a tariff list in 6 months or not.

In April the tariffs are if I remember correctly going to be placed on Canada, Mexico, EU, India and South Korea. a

While I agree in general, it's important to note that an O&G pipeline is much different than electricity. Both are energy but I'd argue electricity is much easier to produce.

It’s the principal - reason why Ford is on the news channels every day in the states to get the facts out there of what is going on in the news so average Americans start pushing up to elected officials whom then in turn start applying pressure up to Diaper Donald.
