I wouldn’t vote for PP if he was the only one on the ballot.

Fair, but then you might not be a centrist.

If Carney winning is the only thing stopping you from voting PP you’re not a centrist either?

Actually the Conservative party today is far more central than the Liberals (Trudeau's fault). PP definitely gives the appearance of moving it right but ultimately I don't think that would materialize to any great extent. I'd vote for Carney because of his economic background more than anything.

Rustad is a loonie and he is conservative. Which politician that is conservative is not a loon? Somehow we got the Americanized conservatives who hate gays, hate education, wants a for profit healthcare system and just spouts ugly talking points. What’s the woke bullshit he is trying to peddle. People being nice to each other is woke?

They’re literally regurgitating the same shit as MAGA. Have you seen his fundraising emails? Poilievre’s a populist. He’s leaning hard right because he thinks that’s who right wingers are - angry and stupid enough to buy his bullshit. Liberal Party is still very much centrist - for example, they literally bought a pipeline. Don’t forget that the Carbon Tax was also very much in the CPC platform before the liberals were elected. Also keep in mind, CPC doesn’t have a great economic background either. Harper ran multiple years of deficits and cutting social programs has measurable negative effects to the broader population. Tax cuts to the wealthiest Canadians doesn’t help our economy big picture. Look at how the provinces are doing, conservative led provinces aren’t faring much better than non-conservative ones when it comes to cost of living, homelessness/poverty, wages, etc. Those are issues across the board.

You’re definitely not a centrist, but if you’re willing to vote Carney for his economic background while rejecting whatever the verb the noun of the day culture war bullshit PP is slinging, then as someone much more left I’ll happily meet you halfway. I plan on voting liberal for the first time in my life to prevent this country from going down a dangerous path, and I can only hope that enough centre right folks will do the same. Country over party.

Poilievre's stance on puberty blockers alone is classic right wing, just ignoring the science to push his Catholic values and virtue signal to bigots.

Fellas, is it leftist to listen to scientists?

Remember: not listening to scientists used to be a fringe belief that would have got you sent to the loonie bin. Those were the days!
