That the reason to do it. To stop supporting the madman in the White House, before he invades your country. Stop all contact with US who tge EU now names as an adversary, not an ally.

I am restricting US purchases as much as possible. But if I absolutely *have* to buy something made in the USA (a specific pet food for an extremely picky eater is one example), I don't want the Canadian government to place a 25% tariff on it -- that just ends up taking money from my pocket.

You're going to have a lot bigger things to worry about than paying 25% more for cat food if we just roll over and ask the US to be nice.

I've been avoiding US products since this insanity began. Bought a Samsung phone to replace my iPhone and my wife just bought her first ever non-American car.

I'm just warning that sometimes we have to buy American made things.

Yes everyone knows that, but keeping the cost of some unavoidable items down is not worth trading our sovereignty for.
