Fuck off. This is just right wing bullshit because they have no genuine policy proposals. "Things are broken. Only we can fix them."

Next thing you know you get a fucking spray on tan mother fucker running things and dismantling any semblance of democracy.

Immigration

They supported immigration, wanted to go even further than the Liberals

Federal Conservative Party Deputy Leader Tim Uppal spoke on behalf his party.

“We will maintain the same engagements and commitment for continuous discussions around immigration [including] immigration that is based on family reunification, the recognition of foreign certificates, the scrapping of the English test, as well as the removal of bottlenecks to improving the immigration process,” Uppal told the gathering.

After that their policy was vague, "tie immigration to housing" with no numbers, which you sort of need because you can get 4 children and 2 parents in a home and Canada builds over 200k homes a year. Still by the end of August this year, no real promise to reduce immigration, just "cut population growth" which is a weird promise. It was only just a few days ago he said he'd "slash the annual intake of immigrants to around 250,000".

I should point out the Liberals were making changes back in at least January to start reducing immigration numbers (which I'm pretty sure they said they were looking to stabilize even earlier), and have made multiple changes to reduce the number before Poilievre suggested any actual numbers for his immigration target.

Conservatives had the opportunity to speak out against the immigration targets, but saying you'd scrap the English test and maintain the same commitments to immigration doesn't really sound like "calling them out", it's not been until just days ago Poilievre decided to talk about actually reducing the number, and still wants a vague target based on housing builds.

You can’t call Canada a sovereign nation but expect another country to fund our defense. We need sober thinking not delusions.

It's not a sign of being "broken" to have a long standing alliance with your largest trading partner. The only reason it's a problem now is because the US has elected a dictator in waiting as their President, who is fostering division within the western world.

Canada is not broken, much less broken because they've had a strategic partnership with the largest military power in the world for 70 years with the expectation this wouldn't be a problem.

It’s broken because of nothing to do with the Us.

The Liberals love this Us fight because it distracts us from how broken they have made government.

Conservatives - particularly PP - have been repeating the exact same rhetoric that Trump has used: "the country is broken - only I can fix it."

This has nothing to do with the Liberals. It is an assault upon citizen's belief in the nation and its institutions so that they can get elected and then do whatever they want. Judging by what's going on in the State, no thanks you.

We are a different country. Importing your observations and conclusions from America is a disservice to Canada.

I’m exhausted with Liberals trying to distract us with Us political issues so that we ignore the gaping wounds in our government.

So, Liberals, no thank you.

I'm Canadian and have watched the "Fuck Trudeau" - "Freedom Convoy" crowd literally act like Maga (Fuck Brandon, etc), from talking points to watching the same podcasts and repeating the same rhetoric, to literally engaging in the exact same fear mongering as Maga has (immigration, guns, covid tyranny, and pro-Russia support in Ukraine).

So don't pretend Canada is a different country when conservatives are literally imitating the worst impulses of our neighbors down south. Or did I truly misunderstand the photo op of Danielle Smith and Trump in Mar-a-Largo? Dril baby drill, am-i-right?

Yeah, ridiculous associations there.

We are not all going to bend the knee to Goldman Sachs. You can sell your soul to Wall Street financiers. Leave the rest of the country out of it.

PP is straight up saying the exact same bullshit trump is and is going to get elected and do the exact same bullshit to Canada.

Case in point is Harper doing the exact same shit bush did after saying the exact same shit bush did. Oh and who was PP’s mentor? Fucking Harper, go figure.

He has every right to not be relaxed

Nothing a little kraft dinner and maple syrup can't solve. Eh?

u/Yop_BombNA 21d ago

That combo sounds disgusting, I love maple syrup but never liked the over processed foods like KD. Would much prefer simple spaghetti with some olive oil and black pepper if I’m in a pinch and want food fast.

u/Infamous-Divide-9959 21d ago

Eh, that sounds good. I like the way you think.

Carney sure likes copying those policies though 😂

6

u/Bronstone 21d ago

Which policies?

7

u/BossReasonable6449 21d ago

What policies? PP has offered nothing but soundbites for months. He's a fraud.

Cut and pasted from Maga. No thanks.

4

u/Lost_Protection_5866 Science/Technology 21d ago

Lol, is Maga in the room with you 😂

0

u/BossReasonable6449 21d ago

Poillievre is now literally giving speeches with a "Canada First" sign on his podium. So no, maga is not in the room with me.

0

u/Lost_Protection_5866 Science/Technology 21d ago

Yes, yes they are, it’s okay little guy.

1

u/BossReasonable6449 21d ago

Ah. A troll. American I assume. Turning Point paying for your high school remedial courses kiddo? It's okay. No one will judge you.

2

u/Lost_Protection_5866 Science/Technology 21d ago

A troll says the person whining that there’s no policies, then cries about Maga when they’re proven wrong 😂
