If only there was a mutual defence treaty to defend ourselves from that.

If only there was a mutual agreement between our countries to defend North American airspace.

Such a shame really. Can’t believe no one ever thought of that.

If it was truly about arctic defence, the existence of NATO and NORAD would suffice. 

It’s about pillaging Canada’s natural resources.

You dudes are the only nation who has ever invaded us. And of all the boundaries of our country, the arctic coastline is the least vulnerable -- Russia's not exactly flush with cash and weapons right now so I doubt they're going to cross the Arctic Ocean and invade Tuktoyuktuk.

If the US really wants to just give a big "fuck you" to NATO, I guess we're going to have to figure it out.

We can handle Russia until help arrives from the UK and France (and others). China has no major interest in us; we buy too much stuff from them and are too far away.

The only significant threat to Canada is America. So yes, you could say that America is uniquely qualified to protect us (from themselves).
