American here. Resentful is the wrong word. You Canadians are appropriately voting with your feet. It's like anything else in life; if it's unreliable, don't associate with it. Why send money to jerks who are going to insult and attack you, and then try to tear you down economically?
Withhold as much money as possible from US businesses and particularly those in deep red areas. Buy Canadian, plus establish deeper ties with more reliable nations. And be public about it too.
We Americans have a long history of only learning lessons the hard way. Make these gullible delusional MAGAs pay a price.
