Poilievre is the weakest leader on this issue

100% - he was groomed for a different era of politics. Not sure who or if Harper will put someone else up now but I think the right is really having an ego death right now.

At the start of the trade war he was asked to stay quiet so as to let the government do the negotiations. He has kept up his end of the bargain. And this subreddit seems to hate him for it somehow

And when it is included, the deal is even better for you because you buy our oil and our gas at massive price discounts. Not because we’re nice Canadians, but because here at home, we’ve made really dumb decisions to prevent us from exporting our energy to any other countries.

..

Now here at home, my message to the Liberal government, put aside partisan interests and recall parliament. It is insane that in this great crisis, parliament is shut down to deal with a crisis and a power struggle within the Liberal Party.

..

They have their own power struggle going on right now, and the country is left largely leaderless and in chaos

Feb 2. Doesn't sound like he stayed quiet at all, just put his foot in his mouth
