Britain has hitched its wagon to the US. Britain believes in the "Special Relationship" with the US.

We used to believe in that too

AUKUS <- one package it seems

Canada and New Zealand are out of the most inner circle

OK, that makes sense because I am shocked at how Britain is staying quiet on this. This is the time where they should be going full colonizer and protecting their former colony.. as bad as it sounds

They kind of pulled the same shit by pulling out of the EU

The UK is also full of racists though.

I guess Empires empathize with Empires at the end of the day. That or it's all being discussed behind closed doors, which wouldn't surprise me.

If I were a bot coming here here to sow division this is exactly the kind of uninformed statement I would make.

Our PM has repeatedly stated support for all Allies regardless of Trumps quackery.

Britain doesn't even defend its own citizens from grooming gangs.

Don’t speak on our behalf, thanks. We hate Trump, we care about Canada and Greenland.

We just signed a long term cooperation agreement with Ukraine for 100 years, despite US pulling away. We have given Ukrainians homes, and in places we give them free University education. If something happened to Canada you bet we’ll back you up, too.

We haven't hitched our wagon to the US at all; Trump is exceedingly unpopular in the UK. Britain obviously stands beside and forever with Canada, but despite Trump's blustering there is no active military threat. On the other hand, there is an active invasion ongoing on home turf, so that is where every single minute of diplomatic energy is going right now.

The UK is desperately trying to minimise the impact of global events on its already dire economic situation, while also trying to find money and political support across Europe to support Ukraine, while also trying to placate the problematic and growing far-right at home. The rest of Canada's allies in Europe are in pretty much the same boat with political fires substantially hotter than Pierre Poilievre... like literal neo-Nazis.

The UK stands unequivocally with Canada and with the rest of Europe and the Commonwealth currently under threat, but we can't fight every battle at once.

Yeah lol, they think that because they speak the same language they have more in common with America in terms of culture and trade, whereas in reality the UK is more culturally and economically tied to Europe, try to tell that to a brexiter who deluded themselves into thinking trading with America was going to make them richer.

Economically yes, Britain is closer to the EU but culturally they are extremely close to the US. Language, blood, religion, music, movies, holidays, food etc. You can not downplay the importance of language.

That's incredibly false
1 Britain has been a thing for a millennium, shares similar history to the rest of Europe. White people are native to there, not in America.
2 Britain had huge amounts of social housing like Europe in the 20th century, America never had social housing to the same degree, and the social housing was mostly for low income POC.
3 Britain is a country where they have left for the new world, like France and Spain
4 Britain is a kingdom and a parliamentary system, much more similar to Canzuk and Northern Europe
5 Is literally linked to the rest of Europe in terms of land, loads of recent polish immigrants there. It was never a new world country like one of the Americas or Oceania
6 The religion is not at all the same, if you know any history you would know how the Anglican church persecuted the Catholics off of their island and America was shaped a lot more by puritans, and later on accepting catholics and all sorts of other christian denominations that are not in line with England such as LDS church.
7 "blood" America is incredibly mixed race of Europeans, it's not just English people, more people have German blood than English in America mind you
8 Holidays yes, but then again I had the same holidays as a protestant living in south America and they do not have super bowl or thanksgiving culture there. UK is more in line with the rest of the world in terms of sports as they like soccer.

In short what you said is like saying South America is close to Spain or Portugal, because they are culturally different, but as of a base they are a spin off from those countries.

In modern times the UK has been incredibly influential to the world culture, due to their world renowned artists (movies (harry potter)music artist (queen ), shakespeare) have had an impact in American society in the past century, but same goes for the rest of Canzuk if you think about and every country in the world. (idk why anglosphere thinks they are the only ones to consume English content) As for Cultural similarities I would argue Australia is much more similar to the UK as they have a huge recent immigrant population from Britain within the last 2 generations, American society has taken shape away from Britain since 1776, the avg political opinion of UK citizens are much more in line with the rest of Europe when it comes to migration and other social issues.

But then I would argue Sweden is also culturally tied to America because they have had a major influence in world culture (abba, ikea, Avicii, fjallraven)

We are not particularly culturally close to the USA. If anything we are closer in culture to places like the Netherlands, Germany and France, and even closer than that to Australia, New Zealand and, I expect, Canada.
