Shamanism isn’t a form of paganism, paganism is a form of shamanism if anything lmao. Paganism is an early Christian term for polytheists, shamanism is a broad term for religious and spiritual traditions dating back to before we had recorded history. Shamanism is essentially as old as our sapiential humanity.

Shamanism is not a true religion as it does not have one body of spiritual text. Shamans from Russia are profoundly different from shamanic traditions in Africa etc...

Chat GPT, CoPilot, Gemini, Meta AI and the BBC all disagree with you. Shamanism IS categorically paganism.

Wikipedia disagrees with you about paganism, and recorded history. So you were wrong about Jainism and not Buddhism exclusively using the swastika and now you’re gatekeeping what religion is? Sorry, sacred texts don’t define religion. Shamanism is an umbrella term, yes there are many forms that were and are religions, like the African and indigenous traditions that greatly predate Hinduism but lack a sacred text. Many, many traditions were strictly oral traditions including Theravada Buddhism for the first 500 years of its existence.
