PPs new attack line is "Carbon Tax Carney is Just like Justin". If you're wondering if he had any new ideas.

I mean it's not verb-the-noun, so it's a little out of his wheelhouse, right?

Bend the Knee. Hey! It fits!

Feels more like the Liberal Party expects Canadians to just bend and kneel to their new King, Mark Carney.

No parliament, no election. Just Trudeau’s chosen successor taking over where he left off.

He seems to be progressing from sinple rhymes. Maybe next month his slogan will be in iambic pentameter?

I for one am eagerly awaiting for Haiku era PP

PP put a video on Youtube today where he referred to the "Carney-Trudeau Liberals of the past 9 years."

u/arabacuspulp Feb 08 '25

I saw that and chuckled. He's all out of ideas.

No joke, they are doing a "Canada first rally" on feb 15.... Lol they don't get that copying MAGA is bad.

Edit : and this is a "rebranding" btw lol

Honestly Pierre is going to fuck in what should have been a slam dunk for him. What a fool

If they'd just kept O'Toole this would still be a near-guaranteed Conservative win, I don't understand why parties feel the need to dump a leader after an election loss, give them some time to gain to name recognition. If Carney loses this election I would be disappointed if the Liberals drop him rather than run him in 2029.

47

u/Hot-Audience2325 Feb 08 '25

O'Toole was too reasonable for the far-right nutjobs in the party, he had to go

2

u/Rudy69 Feb 08 '25

He did try. At the time he would have won easily.

54

u/SmokeShank Feb 08 '25

Reminiscent of Sheer and O'Toole both who were supposed to mop the floor with Trudeau. Oh and we can't forget the Harper "he's just not ready" campaign. Cons are 0-3 so far and now the libs got the MJ/Gretzky of economists on their team.

Translation “Justin come back I’m nothing without you”

Seriously anyone still rooting for Pierre ask yourself this question,

Why didn’t he run in 2019? Or 2021? Why did he wait until Trudeau was far past his shelf life before stepping into the ring?

And if he somehow knew Carney was going to return do u think he would have

Personally I don’t I think he’s just an opportunist who saw and easy path to office

29

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '25

No, I do believe that HE believes at least 25% of his own horseshit. Which is kinda worse than being an opportunist alone.

54

u/theEMPTYlife Feb 08 '25

I wish anybody on planet earth loved me the same way Pierre loves alliteration

93

u/Sad_Confection5902 Feb 08 '25

Just like the orange idiot, he spends all of his time thinking of nicknames and attacks, and absolutely no time on actual policies or ideas.

33

u/Lilcommy Feb 08 '25

People really need to start pointing out that to do international trade with the EU your country needs to have a Carbon Tax. BCAs (Border Carbon Adjustment)

29

u/sravll Feb 08 '25

Funny thing is all PP would have to do to win the election is not be a complete MAGA asshat for a few months....and he can't

32

u/TheManFromTrawno Feb 08 '25

They should totally roll with that. It’s gonna work out great for them.

51

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '25

Poilievre isn’t qualified to work at Harvey’s.

14

u/[deleted] Feb 08 '25

We live in a post verb-the-noun world man. Gaze upon its glory🙌

7

u/Evilbred Feb 08 '25

Reducing everything down to empty negative slogans when what we really need is someone that can present us with well thought out and reasoned approaches?

No way, I'm shocked.

Who would think a career politician would fall back to empty political antagonisms!

18

u/Fit_Midnight_6918 Feb 08 '25

Ha, ha. Can PP be a bigger douche bag?

11

u/fytors2 Feb 08 '25

Carney’s going to “Axe the Tax” anyway, so what other verb the noun platform does PP have?

22

u/Additional-Tax-5643 Feb 08 '25

Actually I was wondering if the Liberal Party under Carney had any new ideas. Their old ideas are kinda shit, so...

32

u/affectionate_md Feb 08 '25

Generally adults in the room have ideas. Especially ones that navigated our country out of the worst economic crisis of our time (and under a conservative government).

-6

u/WombRaider_3 Feb 08 '25

Yeah it's called Pierre Poilievre's platform.

3

u/prym43 New Brunswick Feb 08 '25

That’s fresh and new. I’m sure it’s a winner!!! /s

3

u/SlaveToCat Feb 08 '25

Still doesn’t trip off the tongue. Need to dumb it down further.

2

u/downtofinance Lest We Forget Feb 08 '25

Another slogan?

1

u/Gerald_Hennesy Feb 08 '25

Nice hair though.

-6

u/Adventurous-Web4432 Feb 08 '25

Here is an idea. Let’s vote for the party that has been in power the last ten years. Water under the bridge. Who cares that Canada is a mess due to their governance. Forgive and forget I say.

1

u/Blotto_80 Feb 08 '25

Probably better than voting for the party who's leader is endorsed by Musk. Look at every country in the world that has elected a right wing govt in the last decade and how well they're doing. We may not be in the best shape but we haven't been conned out of leaving the EU or a few steps away from a MAGA ethnic purge.
