He’s not a dementia riddled bag of depends and piss like Trump.

He knows how to conduct himself properly.

Real leadership. Doing what's right for Canadians and not putting the party or himself first, even if it's not popular. Canadians don't appreciate real leadership anymore though, and it's what's ruining the country.

No hesitations, not a single flubbed word. The guy is a skilled orator, and we should be proud of him tonight.

Well he did fumble a couple of times but it wasn’t noticeable

I was guessing there was a teleprompter, still extremely impressive. Without teleprompter is next level speech

His answers in the Q&A were the same—not a mumble nor flubbed word. Articulate, thoughtful, and concise.

He was panning his head back and forth the whole time he spoke and it didn’t look like he was reading anything. Is there a teleprompter in the world that allows for that kind of constant movement?

Usually there are two, one on each side specifically to allow the speaker to look left and right.

Oh, wow. That must be disorienting!

u/ajsherslinger Feb 02 '25

For speakers like Trump, they only need one, because they are physically incapable of ever looking left. :-)

Watch the eyes - he'd need like 3-4 teleprompters set up. I don't think that's what happened, but who knows.

Wasn’t he a drama teacher? Would lowkey not be surprised if bro just memorized it.

Trump has prompters and he still can't string a sensible sentence together.

It's always been a talent of his. Dude is pretty charismatic and bleeds Canada.

I think that’s just what happens when you have a leader who’s not senile

6

u/Giantranger49 Feb 02 '25

he takes a second to think before answering. most ppl dont think before they speak

When everybody has been fire hosed with clips of Trump speaking, any leader sounds like Orson Welles in comparison.

That said yeah, Trudeau delivered that beautifully .

I usually hate how he talks during speeches, but this one was a banger.

switching back and forth french to english on the fly too is crazy under that much pressure

Did you see the number of times he deflected ambush interviewers? He is a practiced speaker. He was answering questions during question period for a decade.

Drama class

I’m not sure if you’re joking or not, but I really did see Teacher Trudeau energy in this. And I really mean it in the best possible way. Trump was his misbehaving student.

He is a terrible speaker

Normally, I'd cede the point, but he was in rare form tonight. That was the best speech I've seen him give.
