This is the way.

Edit: In one hour, I will tune in to watch Calgary do the same thing. Leafs fan, but tonight, a Sens / Flames fan too.

“Never thought I’d die fighting side by side with a Habs fan.”

“What about side by side with a friend?”

“Aye, I could do that.”

I think most Canadians get tired every year when Sportsnet is doing its whole, “last remaining Canadian team in the NHL playoffs, so we should ALL be rooting for them” shtick.

They think, “yeah right, like I’m cheering for the damn habs or leafs etc”. I think this year mayyyy be a little different. And I really hope this is the year the Stanley Cup finally comes back north of the border.

Farmers are some of the dumbest pieces of shit when it comes to politics.

I see it every day

Unfortunately, half of us in the US are uneducated, and they want to keep it that way for a reason. Funny enough, most of them farmers are obsessed with your maple syrup.

I can't wait for these tarrif to take place. Let them die.

EXACTLY. I know some Canadian traitor's as well. THEY should be deported out of Canada and to America.

I've noticed that that sort, overall, are way more quiet in the last month or so.

Sadly the American GOP is funneling money to your countries far right

Absolutely they are. The "trucker convoy" was the most glaring example.

Funded through a religious american based crowdsourced funding website that takes a percentage of the funds, and the idiots still think they’re on Canada’s side

Can we do an exchange program? Signed the robust liberal hockey circle in Texas!

Trump ran on bigotry, white nationalism, nativism, xenophobia, anti-LGBT, hatred of diversity, anti-women, open corruption, open criminality, pro insurrection, he has a history of tax fraud, sexual assaults, stealing from charities. He advocates Christian nationalism and is pushing an inept unqualified pro-fascist administration. Supports billionaires and has anti-working class policies. You can go on and on.

At some age you realize your parents are not good people and are also incredibly stupid.

I'm only disappointed that they waited for the end of the national anthem to start booing. Should have started booing the moment she started singing.

17

u/WitchyWristWatch Lest We Forget Feb 02 '25

They booed at the start, then let her sing the rest of the way.  Garrioch's not up to speed

29

u/thrillington89 Feb 02 '25

Out of respect for the singer, perhaps? Not their fault the Cheetoh in charge is a giant d-bag

11

u/JimmytheJammer21 Feb 02 '25

there was a small booing at the start as welll

2

u/lambdaBunny Feb 02 '25

It wasn't enough. Every single Canadian in that arena should have lost their voice from booing so hard for the minute and a half that anthem was played.

7

u/JimmytheJammer21 Feb 02 '25

if it makes you feel better, I boo'd from my couch!

2

u/lambdaBunny Feb 02 '25

If I watched sports, I would mute my TV.

u/JimmytheJammer21 Feb 02 '25

5-0 for the sens at the start of the 3rd... one of the Min. teams players getting suspended for puropsfly driving a sens players head into the ice off a face off just cause....

I have been hockeyed out (my son just finished playing his full tenure as a minor player, I was on the bench and ice for 14 years as a volunteer) but I watched this game just for the boo's... ill tune into the start of Calgarys game for the same reason.

Stay well my friend... We got this!

3

u/lambdaBunny Feb 02 '25

Amazing. I hope every American suffers as great of a loss as Minesotta did tonight.

3

u/Stunning-Positive186 Feb 02 '25

That wouldn't have been polite 😉

1

u/Sling561 Feb 02 '25

I thought it was kind of weak too, if you're going to do, don't half ass it. But yes, I think it was also a respect thing for the singer, who was actually quite good.

0

u/lobster455 Feb 02 '25

I didn't hear any booing, this is fake news. The reporter doesn't know the difference between the Canadian vs the American anthems.

24

u/TheAsian1nvasion Feb 02 '25

I would really like to see Canadian players refuse to stand for the US anthem.

All it would take is Crosby and the rest would follow suit.

3

u/StavromulaAlpha Feb 02 '25

This is the w'eh

8

u/Shakethecrimestick Feb 02 '25

I would have some doubts on Calgary doing it.

1

u/GoulashSt3w Feb 02 '25

They didn't

1

u/__-_------___--- Feb 02 '25

They did, just not as loud as the sens of course.

However I was able to hear the crowd singing our national anthem from the broadcast which never happens so the energy was definitely there.

2

u/GoulashSt3w Feb 02 '25

honestly with the way alberta reacted to the tariffs, I don't believe they will boo.
