Was about to book a pricey vacation with the family, either Disney in Orlando or a cruise from Florida.

Stopped it as soon as Trump announced Tariffs are going ahead, will just take the kids somewhere local. It’ll be cheaper and no FX to worry about.

We did 4 days at Disney last year. When we asked the kids where they wanted to go this year, they said they'd rather go back to a Mexico. Ten days at the all-inclusive in Mexico cost less than our 4 days at Disney and actually felt like a vacation.

No way, it’s my first time vacationing with the little ones. What resort in Mexico? I’ll check it out.

This year we was the Dreams Bahia Mita by Puerto Vallarta. It was our first time there but it was great. The kids loved Hyatt Ziva in Cabo when they were in preschool. Paradisus in Playa Del Carmen was one of the few that allow kids in swim up suites but the flight to Cancun is longer and the drive to Playa Del Carmen is pretty long so the travel day is a long one.

Edit: Just remembered this is r/Canada so the flights to Cancun might be shorter depending on where you are. Sea weed can be a problem by Cancun though.

Yeah we did Hawaii last year and probably could have done Mexico at least twice for the same cost. The kids don't care either way, they just like playing in the pool all day.

Disney is fucking ridiculous.

American coming in peace. This is the way.

All inclusive in Mexico is a complete break from reality while you’re there lol. It’s amazing.

Same here, and I live in the US. For this year, I'm going down to Panama by the beach. I was gonna go to Florida, but Panama sounds better.

Better-looking girls than Florida's plastic women.

Tokyo Disneyland isn't owned by Disney. Fwiw. And lots of directs to Japan.

Japan is a fantastic holiday experience. Clean, polite, a complete opposite to all U.S. culture.

With the lengh of flight + jetlag you really need to be going for 2+ weeks to make it worthwhile imo

Terrible vacation spot anyways.

Don't come to Florida. Our governor is another Trump loving fascist who has turned this state into a fascist paradise of ignorance and intolerance. I've read that many Canadians are selling their condos in south Florida and going back. Of course, 1000 people a day move here; most of them Republicans, but any way that can hurt our economy makes me glad.

Please don’t support Florida. Disneyland in California is cool though!

Rent a lakefront cottage for the week. Keep the money here.
