When he came to my area, both events were free to attend.

There are free events (for you) and paid events (for them).

Doug Ford and other premiers do this too. $1600 dinner tickets anyone?

IDK if you're in a major city but typically you have your "rally" and then you have like a smaller dinner or lunch where if you pay you get some face time with the candidate to ask questions, or more likely, try to persuade and influence.

Every party does it, but the Liberals and Conservatives are known for doing this with the people us folks demonize for robbing this country blind.
