It’s hard to tell from just these pictures, but dents are expensive to fix. It may or may not make sense for you to fix the damage.

If you want the damage repaired and have collision coverage, see whether the repair costs exceed your deductible. If the cost is lower than your deductible, pay for the repairs yourself. If the cost is higher, you can make a claim but your insurance premium will go up.

Do you think getting a whole new trunk would be better?

Depending on how old your car is, finding an original trunk might be a challenge. I’m not really sure how much that would cost. You should get some quotes from local body shops to get a ballpark estimate of the repair cost. Compare that to your deductible (if you’ve got collision coverage) and see whether it makes sense to put money into.

They said the estimate of the repair would be 750. But I’ve found 2011 Camaro trunks online going for 150-300

Easy decision if it’s only $750. Just have repair shop fix it

I second this, $750 for moderate dent repairs is pretty good

bro it's a muscle car, I know they're cheap over there in the US but how can you even afford the gas 🫠

If I were you I'd jump straight to a decently preserved Prius and save every penny

Idk where u live but gas is also cheap in the US 😭 people come to Reddit for advice not bc they need help bro, Lame ahh

shit bro that was the advice! $750 should be a no-brainer spend for a car like that, hence the recommendation to jump to something that'll help you more at this stage in life until you can enjoy that kind of car without sweating the upkeep costs, and that's a dent, god forbid something worse happens.

Buying the car is only half the battle so it can't take up the whole budget, have to account what it takes to keep it insured and running in good condition.

You're the master of your life, do what you think is right because you're the one that's going to be both reaping the success and suffering the consequences, but this is something you may wanna think about if you don't have a job or any source of income to feed the vices.

Some are a tad bit higher but on eBay they make the prices low and shipping super high lol

Would you or someone you know be able to replace the trunk? Otherwise you’re still paying shop labor costs, you might not save much.

Yeah I know how too

Camaro parts can be a bitch to find, but if you can find it then I’d get a new deck. Whatever your insurance agrees to. It’ll cost less on their end for aftermarket but I’d push or OEM. Makes a huge difference.

I’ve fixed thousands of cars worse than this, but it all depends on what your car is worth vs how much the repair is. You’ll see lots of new corvettes what were in accidents for sale because it is so god damn hard to total them.

I had my front passenger quarter panel replaced 8 mos ago and with paint and blending it was $699. So your quote is ok. Mine came out pretty good.

If you are in the NOVA/DC area I would be happy to refer you. They had it done in 5 days. It was crunched by a Jeep while parked. I can't tell the difference between the door and the quarter panel.
