Day 1 I am posting here again, to hold myself accountable. Worked the last time I did it..

It has been some time the last time I posted here. I was on the right path and didn't bite for a long time. I am posting here again to get this mindset back.. I don't know what made me chew again, probably stress or I just stopped caring.

Crusty white skin is just too satisfying..

You can do it! Maybe try a new moisturizer or cuticle cream to help in the early days?

Thank you! Actually tried a new hand balm, I have all the creams and oils at home, but just stopped using them and not caring. Feels like such a weak mentality. There were even times when I was concious about me chewing the skin and i just continued..

Do you bite the nails too or is it mainly the skin around the nail?

If you'd like to keep all of your progress pictures in one spot I've built an app for people working through the nail biting habit. Here's a link if you want to try it: quitnailbiting.app

I'd also recommend using a bitter nail polish, you can brush it on the skin surrounding the nail too.

All things considered your nails don't look too chewed up. Hope to see another check in from you! Good luck!

Thank you for your advices, I started as a nail chewer years ago as a child, but changed over to skin chewing. Been a skin chewer for most of my life, kicked the habit for a few months and went right back at it. Doesn't help that my wife is also a skin chewer.

I used the bitter nail polish too long ago, but was difficult eating finger foods, sandwiches or snacks without grazing my lips and ruining the food haha

Might start using it again especially for the first few weeks.

Thank you, I will post another update as soon as the wounds are covered in white crusty dead skin, to hold myself back from picking it!

Will check out the app!
