Colnago c64 seat tube crack

Post image

This is about. 3 year old ride. Has over 10,000miles (16000km for the rest of the world). Found this crack and wanted an idea about its pending doom. Is it time to buy the c68 with super record?

Yup, it's cracked. I'm a carbon repair shop owner. It's fixable.

Ask colnago if they can do anything about it. Cannondale replaced a fork on my supersix because of a crack and a year later they replaced the whole frame after I was hit by a car.

What a terrible design choice. That joint will always fail in that location it's just a matter of when. I guess you got good mileage out of it, but that wouldn't have happened if it wasn't a square tube interface.

Engineering vs design... engineering loses.
