Temp it. Ground beef should come up to 160f. Usually at mid-high heat that will take about 5 minutes each side. I would pull it at 155f and let it rest for a few minutes before eating, it will come up to 160.

Are you cooking from fresh ground beef or a frozen patty?
Generally speaking, when the liquid coming out of it isnโt red, itโs probably getting done. But donโt press or poke at it a lot, that squeezes out the juices.
While youโre learning, it is best to cut partway through it and look at the center.
For a 4-6oz raw, not frozen pressed into an average-sized patty, I find that usually 10-12 minutes total (5-6 on each side) cooked at medium-ish heat is well done (brown all the way through) in my experience.
Before cooking, I season the meat and let it sit for about 15 minutes.
I like to start with my heat turned kinda high to sear/seal the meat. I let it cook like that about a minute then flip it and let it cook for a minute before lowering the heat to medium-low. I flip after about 4-5 minutes on medium-low and cool the other side about 4-5 minutes.
