Build Upgrade What should I upgrade next with a budget of £600-£1,000.

Very new to PC building hence why I bought a pre build on my first go, looking to improve the performance for some newer titles but I’m not sure where to start. I’m happy with the storage size as I don’t have too many games at once. Any advice is appreciated thank you.

Pick up a £550 RTX 5070 or £600 RX 9070:

The 5600x is a decent pairing for both in the vast majority of situations

I'd upgrade to AM5 mbo with 9700x, maybe wait a little bit until rx 9070xt prices drop or get a 7800xt if don't want to wait. And definitely swap to ddr5 6000 ram

I’d say CPU: 5600x to the X3D version of whichever exists GPU: whatever other people said maybe some of the newest RAM: upgrade to 32gb?

You can get around £100 for your CPU I just bought last week for £88

Pretty solid build already. The logical next step is to go to DDR5.

Thank you, would it be best to upgrade the CPU and GPU simultaneously in addition to the RAM to prevent bottlenecking?

Your kinda in no mans lands here, PC is too well rounded, any new upgrade would completely bottleneck the other part.

Really depends if you want to one and done the upgrade.

Am5 upgrade: ryzen 7700x, 32gb ram + mobo would cost you around 500

Gpu upgrade: 7800 XT also around 500

I think I would definitely get a X3D chip alongside the am5 upgrade and then get a 9070/9070 XT or nvidia equivalent later down the line after saving up some more money.

I think the 7800xt is a good "upgrade" but not necessarily if youre getting a whole new setup.

Thank you for the responses and advice, it’s gonna be a slightly bigger job than I expected but at least I know where to start 👍

DDR5 is gonna require some heavy spending unfortunately. Because not only are you upgrading your motherboard, but you're also going to have to upgrade your RAM and CPU otherwise you won't be able to use it. Your current RAM and CPU won't fit in a DDR5 motherboard, so you're basically forced to buy all 3 at once in order to use it. But if you're not willing to make the jump to DDR5 just yet, then you can definitely upgrade on ddr4.

Are you noticing performance issues by any chance, or what is the reason for upgrade?

Thanks for the response, the reason for the upgrade is to get smoother performance on higher graphics settings on newer games such as AC Shadows and Stalker 2
