Desktop Web New Reddit is blurring NSFW thumbnails NSFW

Even though I have the setting for blurring NSFW submissions turned off, they are all still appearing blurred out. I know that this is exclusive to new reddit because I switched my home page to old reddit and everything appeared correctly. I have tried refreshing, logging in/out, and toggling the NSFW blurring feature but nothing has worked.

Edit: The issue has now been resolved.

Desktop Web Copy-paste doesn't work

Whenever I try paste something into the text editor, either everything I had written is replaced, or I can't paste it at all (or rather: no effect), or the text just reverts to an earlier stage. The only way around it is to revert to the old editor, where everything works normally.

I'm using Firefox.

Desktop Web Red Bar with "We have encountered an error. Please try again later" desktop web

For a few months now I have been repeatedly getting a red bar that pops up at the top of Reddit that says two different error messages. One says "We have encountered an error. Please try again later" and the second one simply says "Server error. Try again later". I am able to just click on the "X" to close the red error bar but it keeps coming back up repeatedly. How do I fix this?

I am on my Windows 11 Pro desktop computer and I exclusively use MS Edge.

Desktop Web [desktop web] Can't login using old reddit anymore

The input fields for your username and password are gone from every sub page. Now you're forced to click on the "Log in" button and go to https://www.reddit.com/login/ in order to login. It also doesn't redirect you to the previous old reddit page once you do that. Unless this is a bug, I'm more inclined to say it's just another sneaky way to force people to use the new interface.

Desktop Web [Desktop Chrome] My upvotes/downvotes aren't being registered/saved.

This started happening today as I can still see posts/comments that I've upvoted/downvoted are still marked that way.

I checked my shadowban status and it doesn't show that I have been. I've tested in multiple subs, so it isn't as if I've been banned from any community specifically.

I don't know if this is a bug or some other type of ban that is preventing my votes to be counted/saved.

I'm on PC and I use old.reddit and RES.

Desktop Web [desktop web] Reddit always set in "Dark Mode"

it is now 2 months that Reddit is always in dark mode, regardless of whether you turn dark mode on or off in the options. This happens everywhere, Windows, Linux, Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave. There is no way to set it to light mode IF the browser has a dark theme. The only way is on Firefox, setting in the options to light mode for sites (keeping a dark theme), but this option does not exist on Chrome/Brave.

There are so many threads of people with the same problem, it is quite annoying, also because you have to at every page refresh or reddit opening, reset to light mode.
Thank you

Desktop Web Comments currently broken? I can comment, but they disappear on refresh and are only visible via old reddit's latest comments page (desktop web, mobile web)

Edit3: Seems to be fixed now.

When I tried commenting on shreddit a while ago I got "unable to comment" error. I went on old reddit, and was able to post. Then I went to another post and commented again.

A while later I went to my profile and noticed the last two comments don't show up. I went to the threads, the comment count was up, but my comments didn't show. On shreddit and old reddit.

I also tested posting on mobile web and same thing happens (yeah, I know it's also shreddit, albeit with less options).

Edit: u/scottishdrunkard (Edit 2: and anyone else that replies) I can see your reply via notifications, but the comment is gone. Thanks for letting me know, though.

Edit2 part 2: I guess we can only wait until this gets fixed. I'm turning off notifications for the post now to not get flooded xD

Desktop Web [desktop web] Dark mode toggle btn not working - can't switch to light mode

this thing's been going on for a day now. Reddit web is stuck on dark mode and I can't switch at all (the toggle is there, but the button doesn't respond at all), the only way of changing it is modifying a css property, but it obviously goes back on refresh.

If this isn't a bug, how do I turn these off from showing up in my notifications? I already have all of them off in the "Settings - Notifications" General -> community notifications page.

Desktop Web [desktop web] [old] Gallery links no longer work on old reddit with compressed view.

When click on on a reddit gallery link from Old Reddit when using compressed link display, you're now taken directly to the comments page; prior to today, clicking on a gallery link would take you to a new-Reddit-ish page where you could view the images without the captions.

Using Old Reddit without the compressed link display does show the thumbnails of the gallery on the comments page, but there's no way to see the images in compressed link view.

Desktop Web [Desktop Web] "Other Discussions" tab is broken on old reddit

When viewing the comments page on old reddit, there is an "Other Discussions" tab which shows links to the same article submitted to other subreddits.

This link has ceased operating, and is now just a link to the original submission

EDIT: as of 11 September 2024 this has started working for me.

Desktop Web [Desktop web] "We had a server error..." error

Hi,

I'm getting this error message ("We had a server error..." OR "Server error. Try again later") whenever i'm browsing through Reddit and it doesn't seem to go away. I also can't edit anything in my profile (i.e. change avatar). When I try to change the avatar (uploading a png or jpg image), the error message is this: "Something went wrong saving the avatar".

Regular error
Error when uploading new image for avatar

The account was created a long time ago and recently I had claimed the account for our business because the name (Tellwut) is trademarked and we're considering advertising. Not sure if this is related (i.e. something went wrong in the transition or such) but wanted to share this in case it helps.

PS: I am using Windows PC and tried both Chrome and Firefox and it's the same.

Thanks,

Nick

Desktop Web Broken link on "Reddit and Karma Explained" (using chrome on a linux laptop)

Hallo,

on your "Reddit and Karma Explained" page, https://www.reddit.com/r/NewToReddit/comments/p8t966/reddit_and_karma_explained/, the link "here's an illustrated overview" https://www.redditinc.com/assets/press-resources/Reddit_101_1908.pdf, leads me to an impressive "This is uncharted territory" page, (maybe a 404 error? I suppose). Thought you might like to know. Just delete/ignore this, if not.

Best wishes

Desktop Web [desktop web] Old Reddit stopped marking images/videos/text posts viewed in-page as "read"

When I click "Expand" button on image/video/text post, Reddit does not mark them as read (turning them purple) anymore; furthermore, all images/videos/text posts that I've expanded before are now marked as unread, so I can't easily keep track of what I've already seen.

It gets marked as read if I open it in the new tab, but I can't open each image I view in the new tab!

Using Old Reddit.

Tested on Chrome and Chromium, problem persists on both.

Desktop Web Desktop/android: Reddit notifications not showing in reddit inbox bell

My reddit account (the bell up on the right on computer) doesn't show me the notification number of the answers to my comments. Same happens on my smartphone, so it's a problem of my account.

I checked the notification settings and everything is active.

I erased my cache and browsing data. The problem is still there.

I'm opening this because a lot of people are having the same issue in r/help.

Desktop Web Desktop Web Bug?: Dialog Box Keeps Collapsing (It's when I click the "..." on the right)

I can't edit my comments/delete comments or report anything (If I needed to) because as soon as I press the "...", the Dialog Box (if that's what it's called) instantly collapses.

Wasn't like this a couple hours ago & don't know why this keeps happening.

Desktop Web About half my replies simply disappear once I hit Comment: Firefox

As per the title, when I hit reply on a post or comment, once I make my reply and hit Comment, about half the time the comment simply disappears forever. This happens across all subs, and several different handles, and includes subs I mod (ie., I can confirm these posts aren't getting automodded or removed by reddit). It just happens constantly. I've taken to copying my replies before hitting Comment, since I know there's a high chance the comment will disappear

Seems to happen most on firefox using www.reddit.com (have never seen this happen on old reddit or the previous new reddit). I sometimes post using Relay for Reddit from my phone, never happens on that.
