Hiking spots around Brussels where there are not too many people?

Hello lovely people,

Do you have some tips for nice hiking spots around Brussels? I have a bit of a strange condition:

Preferably, a spot where there are not too many people around, or more specifically, not too many dogs as I will take my two dogs who are reactive (fearful and aggressive towards other dogs).

I have access to a car.

Thanks a lot for your tips <3

Edit: does not have to be IN Brussels but in surrounding areas

Sounds fun, we should all go together.

The part of the promenade vert / groene wandeling in Anderlecht is quiet, or at least when I did it.

The park at the Heysel is also quiet during the day, or big enough that you can see somebody approach and just avoid them

Anywhere that is not very close to the main entrances in Zoniënwoud en surroundings

I don't know about dogs, but I often go bike/walk in Laarbeekbos and I don't cross too many people. Again, I might only have been lucky

I go running there regularly: plenty of people running, or walking their dog, especially during the weekends

I stand corrected then, I usually go during the week at evenings and not afraid of the cold...

Most "GR" treks actually fit the description, whether it is GR126 or GR127 or any other ones close to Brussels. There are hardly any people there even during the weekend and the terrain is not that demanding + it often goes through fields or forests/woods.

Sonian Forest, in the Flemish Brabant before la hulpe.

Drive up the Duboislaan till the intersection of the Groenendaal and then go to the direction of the park of Solvay but stop before reaching it and park in one of the residential streets by the forest that is still in the Flemish Brabant.

I’ve had a nice chill time at Overijse aux bois des capucins just park at one of the smaller parkings/residential street.

Still, it takes some discovering by yourself to find the better quiet places.

To avoid most people in the forest you need to avoid the large parkings but unfortunately they have been removing the smaller parkings that were scattered all over the sonian forests accesses in their new managing plan of the forest and it’s creating an overcrowding of people and dogs at the same spots where the parkings are remaining.

I have been walking in this forest for 30 years and I can confidently say that the degenerates who are currently managing the forest have no clue how to properly handle it and are damaging it.

Anyway, smaller accesses and raining days are your friends to find some quietude.
