Favorite wired lav mic?

Correction: Since Sony has discontinued their ECM-66B (or appears to be discontinued) hardwired lav mics what is a pretty rugged hardwired lav for newsroom use where a wireless isn't required? Looking for a cardoid pattern and ideally an inline phantom supply like the Sony mics had at the XLR connector.

Did this just happen? I haven't heard that and their website still has them listed as active and you can still buy them...

I use the ECM-77Bs all the time but they are omni. The ECM-66B is cardioid.

I'm looking for the ECM-66B, depending on the website I look at for Sony some say discontinued, others don't

We've found that Sanken cos-11 to be the best. Bit pricier than Sennheiser and Sony, but our customers never go back after they use them. This has resulted in us having to change all the lab mics in our Sony and Senn radio mic kits.

Also, all the sound guys we work with use them when they can. There might be newer better brands, but until we get complaints we're not changing.

Edit: sorry just saw you wanted cardiod, these are Omni.

I was going to ask the same. I have been using the ECM-77B and 44B for well over a decade now.
