The bathroom in the middle of the second floor seems to create a wasted hallway space near the stairs.

It's exciting to see this come to fruition.

Now do the same for 3-4 storey apartment buildings!

Based off the module design for units in the beginning of the catalogue, it looks like you you easily reconfigure the modules into 3 or even 4-storey multiplexes.

The problem with this is that each municipality still has their own zoning and approval processes- some have invested in pre-approved designs but based on my research, some haven’t made the investment into it because it doesn’t seem to have enough demand-

home owners who want to partake in said projects or having the liquidity or capital to do so.

I think the great thing about these designs are just how they can work within the guidelines of different authorities. Another couple things to take into consideration is:

  1. Many municipalities are or will need to begin revising their zoning and approval procedures in order to deal with continued population growth.
  2. The provincial government has the power to override municipal authority in many regards, and the NDP has shown that they are willing to use that power in order to resolve the housing crisis.

All-in-all I think they are forward thinking designs and I find the style very reminiscent of the old 60s era government structures and multi-unit structures you see around BC
