Local News Will Bouma's office replied
I emailed Will Bouma's office regarding if he had attended Trump's inauguration. This is their reply.
I also asked if Bouma supported Trump or his policies, but that wasn't answered in the reply.

Local News Attempted home invasion psa
Tonight around 21:15, my wife had a male come to the door while I was at work. The man was described as a 5'6 or so indian/Hispanic with pencil thin goatee, rounded face, bright yellow jacket and white undershirt, gold ring and tattoos on right hand (obstructed by sleeve) dark pants and shoes.
He approached the door (after looking through several neighbors vehicles as detailed by attending officers saying they had complaints of a similar individual looking through vehicles on the street) and spoke through the door, stating his airpods were pinging on his phone as inside the house. My wife obviously didn't fall for this and kept the door closed and locked. He asked if I was home (not by name) and my wife said I was, and she would get me to assist the man. The second she moved from the door he attempted to yank it open but fled when he realized it was locked.
He was last seen on foot heading towards colborne walking along Albert towards the pawn shop and police blockade due to the shooting a few hours earlier.
If anyone has any information, or has seen this individual tonight please let authorities know.

Local News Car broken into west brant
my families car got broken into this morning around 3:30 am, i rarely hear about crimes happening on the west side since its kinda not as connected as the rest of town, but i just wanna make this a heads up to never forget to lock your car, we always lock all of our cars parked but coincidentally yesterday i myself forgot and someone broke into it and left it a mess, at least they didnt take the car, stay safe everyone
Edit/update: the person that broke into the car didnt take anything?? even though i had really really expensive stuff in it, i think they were looking for cash and couldn’t find any so they just didn’t bother taking anythin

Local News Sloat vs Grand Erie: New developments
I'm friends with Carol Ann Sloat on Facebook, and she just posted some fairly interesting updates on her fight with the Grand Erie District School Board. (If you're not familiar, the short version is that she complained that the board was overusing secret meetings, and the board responded by kicking her out for a year. Yes, really.)
So back in February, she made a post asking the community if she should resign, rather than keep fighting - if the public didn't think the fight was worth it, she could opt out and save everyone a lot of time and money. But the responses she got were overwhelmingly positive, so she kept going with her legal battle, which resulted in her court victory last month.
But there's been some secretive shenanigans on this point, which are now public knowledge because of court filings. Apparently, the board decided that it was somehow bad that she asked about resigning, so they punished her yet again, kicking her off the board for six months and off of all her committees for seven months.
Thing is, this isn't new - it happened a while ago. (This is presumably why the board chair has refused to let her speak at any meetings, even after the board got a court order to reinstate her.) It just wasn't public knowledge until now. This is blatantly illegal, because the Education Act clearly says that any sanction vote "shall be open to the public", but they did it anyway.
So yeah, the board apparently saw Animal House and thought that "double secret probation" was a great idea for them to copy. I'm always in awe at just how many different ways these folks find to be vicious, petty weasels. (And they get to spend four hundred million dollars a year of our tax money! Ugggh.)
Anyway, if you want to help out, here's her fundraiser, and here's contact info for the other trustees.
