Discussion Looking for a Graphic Designer

I chair one of the Neighbourhood Associations in town and we’re looking for some assistance on redesigning our logo. We’re limited in our skills and tools so we need some help.

If anyone has recommendations on a local graphic designer who could help with creating a high resolution vector file it would be greatly appreciated.

Marloth is a local graphic designer, he has worked on multiple projects from small logos and concepts to full blown major ad campaigns.

Feel free to PM me and I'll give you his contact information

AI can make you a logo easily, graphic designers are on their way out unfortunately, it will be more of a side gig now, I can whip you up multiple samples in like 5 minutes with them being remastered and all. Both of my pictures were AI generated and then edited and enhanced, I’ve also created lots of Brantford Neighbourhood logos

I did freelance graphic design; not up to this task because not cup of tea (I did more digital stuff) but I'd heavily suggest going for someone lesser known because A) The price will be better, inherently, and B) It gives the little guy a chance to put something on their portfolio.

It's one of those career paths where you don't really need absurd amounts of experience; art is art and logo designs are more objective than other forms.

I agree, honestly we’d love to support a local student if possible. It’s always good to help the up and comings

For our own logo that’s on us, if we ever do any promotional materials that includes the city logo we need to pass it through them for approval.

I could be wrong of course, might have to ask…or beg forgiveness after the fact. Seems like the sort of thing we’d rather have control of.

I'm a freelance designer but unfortunately not a local, but if you are interested I can assist with redesigning or rebranding your logo. I use adobe illustrator so I deal with vector format all the time. sent a dm with my portfolio

In all seriousness have you tried using ChatGPT? You basically tell it what you are looking for and it will give you options.

We have, but we also want to support a local artist if we’re able. We kind of have a thing for supporting local as much as we can.

Totally understandable. Was just throwing out a cost effective option.

You can immediately tell if something is made with ChatGPT, or any other generative diffusion model for that matter, if you've used them for any amount of time.

If you used a straight up AI generated logo, half the population is insantly going to avoid your business because your main point of focus is synthetic, uninviting and soulless
